Wow - Brilliant - that movie in the army or navy or whatever with De Niro realy sucked , didn't it??
I'm a sucker for exactly that kind of melodramatic crap, and Gooding did about as much with the material as he could but...yeah, it was pretty bad.
Hopefully he can remain healthy for another 48 hours. 72, even!
Must be watching a different movie - it's called Men of Honour out here!!
If he could stay healthy for the playoffs the drop off from Youkilis would not be too terribly painful.
That's the thing with his season - most of the time he's bad, and when he's good, he still makes outs. It's bad play and bad luck, that's how you get sub-replacement play.
I dunno, the CGI in the trailer looks horrifying (to say nothing about the staggering number of cliches they manage to pack into 2 minutes).
I'll go see it, since the Red Tails are a fantastic story, but I don't have much in the way of hopes for it.
2-2 Rays, Raul Valdes warming, y'all had better take of your own business tonight ...
BTW, as far as Scutaro, as was interrupted last night, this is a great, great documentary, especially in retrospect: A Player to be Named Later, which focuses on a few minor-leaguers, one of whom is Scutaro. Highly recommended.
But hey! It worked last week, so who knows?
We've all seen the numbers, but logic would suggest that you wouldn't put one of your worst hitters in a position in the lineup where he will simply get more AB's then someone down the order. Just based on that simple fact, it seems a dumb decision to have Crawford 2nd as opposed to 8th. And of course the the guy leading off and the 3 guys behind him are really, really good and get on like 40% of the time, so it's a wasted space, a black hole if you will..
Johnny Damon, True Mercenary!
Cletus! Rays killer at 1st!
Wanted to prove to the Rays that anything the Rays can do, the Red Sox can do better?
Yeah, me neither, doing the same thing.
Typically no, but batting a guy with a sub .300 OBP 2nd is just aggressively stupid.
JoPo!
Cletus!!
Piss Hands!!!
Tonight, at least ...
Shoppach takes Valdes deep.
And walking Reynolds? Come on, brother!
Meanwhile, the NESN announcing team seems to be harping on Beckett and Saltalamacchia having trouble communicating.
It might not go so well in the middle, though.
Less than Zero
Gets ahead of every batter and then either walks him or throws a really bad pitch. The strike to Davis was just a changeup that missed really badly.
Hughes looks like crap. 2 line outs to center followed by a walk to Longoria.
Russell Martin just got tossed after the 2nd walk. Hahahaha. The look on his face was ######' priceless.
Ok, credit to Becks, that was clutch. Still allowed the tying run, but hey, we take what we get with this team.
Maybe Martin's hatred for the Sox really does run that deep.
...and he did.
Really???
