Not in the playoffs and didn't he get injured during Spring Training the next year or have it discovered he tore something or other early in the next season?
If there is a playoff on Thursday and Francona starts Lackey I will be rooting for the Rays to win. Because if they're that stupid the Sox deserve to lose.
6-6.
Lackey or Wake...with Salty catching. 4 PBs and WPs in the first inning alone 3-0.
Going out there again, nice.
That's what I was thinking!
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay ahead of you, see [40].
=)
sorry, had a two hour meeting at work..
No, I think Moore is easily the best option. Niemann is not reliable and it's clear that the Rays don't trust him either since he was pulled after one bad inning in favor of a talented rookie with crappy control at AAA and poor results in the majors thus far (Torres). That was a heck of a gamble and shows that all the knowledge they have from being experienced baseball people working with Niemann gives them little confidence right now. But actually skipping him, one of the guys relied on all season to start, in favor of a rookie is something that just doesn't tend to happen in baseball. So that's why I think the odds still favor Niemann starting with an extremely short leash.
However, if that's going to happen the Rays are the team and this is the situation to do it.
The fact that he is so good, while it makes him theoretically the better choice to start the game, also means that screwing him up -- even if it has a low probability to happen -- might not be the best risk/reward.
Niemann isn't terrible either, so that helps.
Yeah, but guys with 85MPH fastballs are toast when they don't have location - and he didn't have his location in his brief Brewers tenure*. I can see why he made it to the Brewers on waivers when they claimed him this year.
(* I saw him pitch a few Reds games as well)
So what? Ryan Fitzpatrick is from HAHVAHD. And he was there the same time as Mark Zuckerberg, the Winklevoss Twins and Natalie Portman!
Of course, there may not *be* a 163...
8-6.
Sorry, I was channeling my inner-Coorey.
\"############# steal everything."
Just let Wieters swing away.
No kidding. I almost didn't want him to throw it.
That's all that mattered.
Line drive in the box score and all that sort of thing ...
Are they still in the NL?
