Visit to the mound in TB after 15 pitches? Really? I wonder what the record is for earliest trip to the mound?
   102. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:36 PM (#3941827)
I don't think Crawford got out of shape. He seems like a fitness nut. If anything, he probably works out TOO hard during the season and tires himself out.

I'm not so sure, Dan. Maybe he got too tight and got out of "baseball shape". He should have at least 30 steals by now, instead of the measly 18 he actually has.

I think the Sox chatterers are taking a major karmic risk by segregating themselves from the general Primate population.

Big K by Betances.

We've got our own thing, you know? We been chattering together all year.

Good to see a fan turn a baseball down - never seen the attraction in trying to get one at a game. You can buy them at a store, right?!?
   108. Dan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:38 PM (#3941838)
Betances is looking a bit better

Visit to the mound in TB after 15 pitches? Really? I wonder what the record is for earliest trip to the mound?

Wasn't a Mets pitcher taken out after five pitches or something this year? Or something else? I feel I should remember this.

DB gets it done

Anyone remember why Lester was starting on three days rest in April, 2008.

Betances through one.
   112. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:39 PM (#3941843)
Well, it has nothing to do with karma. It has to do with not wanting to keep track of 7 simultaneous conversations.
   113. Dan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:39 PM (#3941844)
Is always seems like the Red Sox SS is out of position. They really ,really need to get someone better at data analysis to help out on defensive positioning.
   114. Jose is an Absurd Sultan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:39 PM (#3941845)
Either the Sox will win or the Sox will lose. If they win I want to share it with Sox fans, if they lose I'll probably say something I regret to a fan of another team.

NOAA Radar of Baltimore Area

Does seem like some stuff will be bearing down in about 45 minutes-1 hour.

Love the cutter diving in on the right-hander.

Hey, Matt Rauseo. How's it going, matt?
   118. Darren Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:40 PM (#3941851)
How many infield hits does this team give up?
   119. Darren Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941852)
Very nice turn by Peds!
   120. Mister High Standards Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941853)
Nice turn
   121. Jose is an Absurd Sultan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941854)
That was two horseshit throws but they got the DP
   122. booond Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941856)
Nice DP
   123. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941857)

   124. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941858)
Hot damn. Aviles did try to screw that one up - nice pick and turn by Pedroia.
   125. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:41 PM (#3941859)
Ok, Lester looks fine so far.
   126. Textbook Editor Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:42 PM (#3941861)
That was a nice DP.

And the Yankees wiggle out of it.
   127. Dan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:42 PM (#3941862)
I really like Lowrie's D at third more than Aviles. Aviles has a scattershot arm.

Upton just robbed Montero of a hit on a sinking liner.
   128. Phil Coorey. Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:42 PM (#3941863)
We are not meant to be passionate as they won it all in 04 and 07 - do they really want me chattering over there?

I'll save the PG 13 stuff for over there I think

Meanwhile - ####### great double play
   129. Mister High Standards Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:43 PM (#3941865)
RJ I'm great man, how you doing?
   130. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:43 PM (#3941868)
Really, Dan? I would have said the same thing about Lowrie.
   131. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:43 PM (#3941869)
Looks like Upton might have hurt his hand on that catch. It looked awkward - I sprained a thumb doing just about exactly what Upton did there.
   132. Textbook Editor Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:44 PM (#3941871)
Although if you extrapolate it out, it's possible the storms go just a bit south of Baltimore. Hard to tell.
   133. Mister High Standards Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:44 PM (#3941873)
Aviles doesn't seem like he has been that good as a good guy.
   134. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:44 PM (#3941876)
Fine, Matt. Just fine.
   135. Darren Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:45 PM (#3941880)
Let's blow this damn thing open.
   136. Dan Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:45 PM (#3941881)
Nuñez doubles with 1 out. Yankees have another threat. Price is having to make a lot of high intensity pitches.

Nice AB from Aviles.
   137. Textbook Editor Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:45 PM (#3941882)
Dear god, MLB thought it a good idea to put Joe West behind the plate of a key game with playoff implications?
   138. ray james Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:45 PM (#3941883)
Price doesn't look so good. Nunez just doubled off him.

   142. Benji Gil Gamesh VII - The Opt-Out Awakens Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:46 PM (#3941891)
Aviles has actually hit .327/.343/.449. I knew he hadn't been useless at the plate but I didn't think he'd been that good.

That's 1, let's get more
   160. Textbook Editor Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:49 PM (#3941918)
Boy, you compare Ellsbury's swing on balls like that to left to the ones from the 2007 playoffs and it's like night and day. Then it was slappy and now it's with power.
   161. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: September 28, 2011 at 11:49 PM (#3941919)
Let's open this up, Papi...

Criminy. The Yankees have them loaded after Jeter walks with 1 out and Granderson pops up on the first pitch.
