Pedro is the awesomeness.
   2. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 17, 2006 at 08:35 PM (#2067099)
Jose Reyes is on pace 135 runs, 185 hits, 70 walks, 70 steals, 35 doubles, 20 triples, 15 homers, and 70 stolen bases. His OBP is up to .337.
   3. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 17, 2006 at 08:50 PM (#2067111)
I think all the hype surrounding the Mets has to do with the fact that they have such a big lead in the division.
   4. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 08:55 PM (#2067114)
Yes, a 10 game lead after 70 games. that's nothing to hype.
   5. Шĥy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 10:38 PM (#2067176)
I don’t get all the Mets hype.

And Mets fans never used to get all of the Yankees hype in past years. That's what it's like being a fan of the second best baseball team in New York.
   6. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:11 PM (#2067186)
Good. The Mets' fast OF is back together tonight.
   7. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:13 PM (#2067188)
Brian Roberts is a great example of how random HR spikes can occur in a single season.
   8. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:14 PM (#2067190)
I ahte it when I can't find the GD game at first.
   9. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:16 PM (#2067192)
When is Cliff or X expected back?
   10. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:17 PM (#2067194)
Why can't Castro start with Pedro?
   11. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:17 PM (#2067195)
Not a great start for Pedro.
   12. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:18 PM (#2067196)
That's an unearned run so far.
   13. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:18 PM (#2067197)
I believe that Nady is supposed to come off the DL on Monday or Tuesday. They just put Cliff on the DL, but it's retroactive to last Tuesday.
   14. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:18 PM (#2067200)
Dammit, I hate cheap runs.
   15. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:20 PM (#2067201)
The DL for Floyd? He really does have brittle bones.
   16. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:20 PM (#2067202)
Dammit, I hate cheap runs.
And I hate shaky defense... Delgado bobbles, LoDuca says, "Ole!"
   17. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:23 PM (#2067204)
Wow, Fahey was completely lost there.
   18. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:24 PM (#2067205)
Fahey had no clue on that.
   19. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:24 PM (#2067206)
It would be sweet if you could control the speed of Gamecast, to get to to sync up with the audio.

The Orioles saw our shaky defense and decided to repay the favor!
   20. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:25 PM (#2067208)
Why the hell was LoDuca bunting?
   21. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:25 PM (#2067209)
Reyes is blossoming with each game.
   22. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:25 PM (#2067210)
And that was a horrific throw from Benson.

Yay run!
   23. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:25 PM (#2067211)
Ha!
   24. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:26 PM (#2067212)
The DL for Floyd? He really does have brittle bones.

I'm shocked - just shocked that Floyd is on the DL!
   25. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:27 PM (#2067213)
Delgado!
   26. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:27 PM (#2067214)
Nice work from Delgado!
   27. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:28 PM (#2067215)
Alright Delgado.

Let's go David!
   28. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:28 PM (#2067216)
Mike Jacobs hit his 10th tonight. He's developing into a fine young hitter. I love Delgado, but I wonder how nice it would be to have Jacobs as part of this Mets team as well.
   29. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:29 PM (#2067217)
I'm shocked - just shocked that Floyd is on the DL!

I take full credit for it. It's definitely my fault. I guess Floyd hadn't been injured in so long (for him) that I thought he was an Iron Man in the rough.
   30. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:30 PM (#2067219)
I like pulling for Jacobs as well.
   31. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:32 PM (#2067220)
Nice bunt from Patterson.
   32. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:34 PM (#2067221)
Good inning for Pedro.
   33. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:35 PM (#2067222)
Nice inning by Pedro.
   34. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:35 PM (#2067223)
That Marlins team is going to be very good in the 2nd half. I like how their GM and manager were not afraid to go into the season with a bunch of unknowns and unprovens. Looks like a good number of those young players are going to pan out and the front office deserves a lot of credit.
   35. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:37 PM (#2067224)
Endy is fast.
   36. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#2067225)
Milledge is fast too.
   37. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#2067226)
Now *that* was some nice work from Milledge.
   38. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#2067227)
I'm fond of Endy Chavez.
   39. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#2067228)
Beautiful bunt Milledge!
   40. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:39 PM (#2067229)
Small ball!
   41. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:39 PM (#2067230)
That Marlins team is going to be very good in the 2nd half.

There's a slight chance that the Braves could end up finishing in last place. That would be something.
   42. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:39 PM (#2067231)
The Marlins aren't going to be "very good". They may suck less, but "very good" isn't going to happen.
   43. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:40 PM (#2067233)
That was terrible work from Reyes.
   44. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:40 PM (#2067234)
That would be something.

Something hilarious.
   45. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:40 PM (#2067235)
Argh, Reyes.
   46. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:41 PM (#2067236)
Jesus, I didn't even realize that the Braves are only a half game up on the Marlins. That's remarkable.
   47. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:41 PM (#2067237)
That was a poor AB from Reyes. Get the ball on the ground.
   48. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:42 PM (#2067238)
Come on Paul.
   49. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:43 PM (#2067239)
They may suck less, but "very good" isn't going to happen.

We may have to disagree here. I'm going to predict that the Marlins will play above .500 ball in the 2nd half.
   50. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:43 PM (#2067240)
Grand slam time.
   51. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067242)
Well, that was disappointing.
   52. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067243)
Dammit.
   53. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067244)
Ugh. No runs after 2nd and 3rd with 1 out.
   54. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067245)
Every once in a while, I'm mildly pleasantly surprised when LoDuca draws a walk.
   55. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067246)
That was a dreadful inning.
   56. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#2067247)
Very disappointing inning.
   57. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:45 PM (#2067249)
Beltran's cooling down a bit.
   58. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:45 PM (#2067250)
We may have to disagree here. I'm going to predict that the Marlins will play above .500 ball in the 2nd half.

42-40 isn't "very good".
   59. rlc Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:46 PM (#2067252)
Woo-hoo! Benson and Millar execute a routine play! On just the third try!
   60. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#2067254)
Didn't Pedro walk the pitcher in his last start?
   61. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#2067255)
WTF, Benson!?
   62. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#2067256)
Kris Benson never did that as a Met.
   63. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#2067257)
WTF?
   64. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#2067258)
Well, that's the most disgusting thing I've ever heard. Glad I didn't see that garbage.
   65. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:48 PM (#2067259)
Yowza!
   66. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:49 PM (#2067261)
Pedro Prime would never have given up a homer to the freakin' pitcher.
   67. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:50 PM (#2067262)
UGH. I smell a bad series.
   68. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:50 PM (#2067263)
Is Fahey Bill Fahey's kid? He looks like him, I think.
   69. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067264)
Apparently the teams forgot to bring the fundamentals tonight.
   70. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067265)
That was just awful.
   71. Banta Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067266)
WHAT IS THIS BULLSHIT BASEBALL
   72. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067267)
42-40 isn't "very good".

Fine. The Marlins are going to be good in the 2nd half.
   73. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067268)
Pedro Prime would never have given up a homer to the freakin' pitcher.

Well, he didn't. the last HR by a pitcher was Drabek in 1993 (off Pedro).

That and in his real prime was in teh AL.
   74. rlc Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#2067269)
Is Fahey Bill Fahey's kid?
Yes.
   75. Chris Dial Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:53 PM (#2067270)
Well, the Met weren't "good" last year, so I think you disagree with yourself.
   76. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:54 PM (#2067271)
I wonder if the Orioles brought bad karma to town in the form of Anna.
   77. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:54 PM (#2067272)
K!
   78. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:55 PM (#2067273)
Big K.
   79. rlc Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#2067274)
Well, he didn't. the last HR by a pitcher was Drabek in 1993 (off Pedro).
That's nothing - the last Oriole pitcher to hit a HR was Roric Harrison, in 1972.
   80. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#2067275)
Well, the Met weren't "good" last year, so I think you disagree with yourself.

??
   81. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#2067276)
Pedro!
   82. Joshemy Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#2067277)
Another K!
   83. Raskolnikov Posted: June 17, 2006 at 11:57 PM (#2067278)
Pedro pulling something out of the hat again.
   84. Joshemy Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:00 AM (#2067279)
Ugly.
   85. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:00 AM (#2067280)
That fooled Patterson.
   86. Raskolnikov Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:01 AM (#2067282)
That's a nice start for Delgado.
   87. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:03 AM (#2067285)
I think Pedro was surprised that Benson was swinging on a 3-1 pitch. I don't mind the homer really as I think he was assuming he was taking. What is troubling about the Benson AB is that he fell behind 3-0.
   88. Joshemy Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:04 AM (#2067286)
Boo. I thought that was out.
   89. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:04 AM (#2067287)
All these bad omens... not good.
   90. Harris Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:04 AM (#2067288)
hehehe Benson got a homer.....
   91. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:05 AM (#2067289)
Another leadoff double gone to waste.
   92. Banta Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:06 AM (#2067290)
Back to stranding leadoff doubles...
   93. Joshemy Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:10 AM (#2067292)
Good quick inning there.
   94. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:10 AM (#2067294)
Good inning Pedro.
   95. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:11 AM (#2067295)
When Pedro's locating, it really doesn't matter how hard he's throwing.
   96. Raskolnikov Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:11 AM (#2067296)
Is Pedro taking some kind of Dr. Jekyll potion? One inning, he's Pedro. Next inning, he's Lima.
   97. Raskolnikov Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:13 AM (#2067297)
Nice start from Milledge. The kid is gonna hit.
   98. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:17 AM (#2067298)
That's two of Jose's worst AB's of the year -- both in this game.
   99. Raskolnikov Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:23 AM (#2067299)
The O's may have rushed Markakis a bit.
   100. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 18, 2006 at 12:26 AM (#2067300)
Son of a #####.
