D Rays have beaten the Yanks. 7-4 final.

Damn

Now who is getting testy. I am at work, and a gamecasting several of these games.

I suggest you have another drink and settle down
   203. The Ghost of Sox Fans Past Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:07 AM (#1606572)
Damn good, you mean Phil.
   204. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:07 AM (#1606573)
Rex Hudler: "Even John Franco in his prime had a good change up." "Even" John Franco? Is it that hard to remember that he was once a good pitcher? I know it was like 45 years ago or something, but still ...
   205. The Ghost of Sox Fans Past Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:08 AM (#1606575)
Oh I know, damn, we could have been up 5 games on them. Well, still can.
   206. Phil Coorey. Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:08 AM (#1606576)
Damn good, you mean Phil.

Sarcasm is hard to convey here...

:)

Hope you are well ghost

Just turned the game on - I was out for The OC. (Which was relatively disappointing, BTW. Other than Jeri Ryan as the crazy lesbian alcoholic looking to break up Sandy and Kirsten's marriage, at least.)

Sox aren't very good tonight, are they?
   208. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:12 AM (#1606588)
I just learned today that Jeri Ryan was going to be on The OC, and that she and Melinda Clarke are friends in real life.

I found this second bit of news far more exciting than the first, though my definition of "friend" may be overbroad in this case.
   209. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:13 AM (#1606589)
Oh, and, Fly - you work in technology transfer?

One of my best friends from college worked at a technology transfer consultant in New Bedford up until this last fall. Is it the sort of small world where you would know of other companies in the area, or, um, is this a very boring connection?
   210. The Original SJ Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:13 AM (#1606590)
I’m already bombed. Dan’t you tell by my typos?

The typos, and the overall tone of your posts tonight.
   211. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:14 AM (#1606597)
What's technology transfer? You move computers around?
   212. Hombre Brotani Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:15 AM (#1606599)
I just learned today that Jeri Ryan was going to be on The OC, and that she and Melinda Clarke are friends in real life.

I don't find either of them particularly attractive. Jeri Ryan is particularly unattractive to me, especially since I found out that refuses to perform vile and kinky sex acts in front of strangers for her husband. What sort of wife is that!
   213. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:17 AM (#1606605)
Melinda Clarke isn't that hot out of context, but she's kinda hot as a crazy, evil, slutty mom.
   214. Hombre Brotani Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:17 AM (#1606606)
You just knew Rodriguez was going to make this exciting/painful.
   215. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:18 AM (#1606607)
Oh, you Angel fans whining about your pitching just slay me.
   216. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:18 AM (#1606608)
   217. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:20 AM (#1606617)
She really didn't look good tonight on The OC, either. She was pleasantly evil, though.
   218. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:20 AM (#1606618)
Particulalry unattractive (cont'd).

I don't know how we're going to convince fans of other teams that our bullpen has been shaky this season, and particularly so over the last month plus. There's been a lot of nail-biting over the bullpen in Los Angeles of Anaheim.
   219. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:22 AM (#1606621)
So does the nexst batter start with one strike because Millar swung twice?
   220. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:23 AM (#1606623)
I like Melinda Clarke. It was wacky that she played herself, only as the wife of a fictional character played by Malcom McDowell on Entourage this season. Very random.
   221. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:23 AM (#1606624)
If Mueller gets on and Cora bats, I'm going to punch levski in the face.
   222. The Ghost of Sox Fans Past Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:24 AM (#1606625)
No worries, Phil. I figured it was an Aussie use of the word.

But for future reference, do this:

[sarcasm]Damn.[/sarcasm]

See?
   223. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:24 AM (#1606626)
C'mon, Freedom!!
   224. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:24 AM (#1606628)
Wow, kevin is teh loaded.

I have a bad feeling about this.
   225. Hombre Brotani Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:25 AM (#1606630)
The offense, or lack thereof, has been pretty average for most of this century. The bullpen, on the other hand, has been stellar up until the second half of this season.

And KRod shows just how shakey by walking the bases loaded.
   226. Famous Original Joe C Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:25 AM (#1606631)
Well, is Freedom was ever to endear himself to the Red Sox fans and get some PT, this will be the situation.
   227. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:25 AM (#1606632)
How long has it been since Freedom was freed? A week - two?
   228. Josh Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:25 AM (#1606635)
I’m going to punch Tito in the face if Petagine doesn’t hit

Dito.
   229. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:25 AM (#1606636)
I BELIEVE IN FREEDOM!
   230. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:26 AM (#1606639)
i guess i shouldn't have. oh well. 2 out of 3
   231. Hombre Brotani Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:26 AM (#1606641)
YES!

Man, did the Angels need this game.
   232. Josh Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:26 AM (#1606642)
Pitch 3: Strike 3 (swinging)
Pitch 2: Strike 2 (swinging)
Pitch 1: Strike 1 (looking)

I still blame Tito.
   233. Mikαεl Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:26 AM (#1606643)
Godammit.

Now it hurts more cause Freedom got owned. Stupid game.
   234. Famous Original Joe C Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:26 AM (#1606644)
And that's that. 4 ab with the bases loaded, 4 strikeouts. Amazing.
   235. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:27 AM (#1606645)
Whew.

I feel really fortunate to have escaped Fenway with one win. We really need to take some frustration out on the ChiSox this weekend.

Seems like The Wyrd did well; this'll be the first game I actually go back and watch in awhile.
   236. John DiFool2 Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:27 AM (#1606646)
Here's a free hint: playing your pinch hitter once
in awhile as a starter might help to keep him
fresh...
   237. Hombre Brotani Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:30 AM (#1606651)
And BH, I just don't like her square face and wierd eyes. The body works just fine for me.

(But not often enough for Bob Ryan!)
   238. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:32 AM (#1606656)
I just don’t like her square face and wierd eyes.

Marriage does weird things to a man.

Or maybe I should blame this on the baby pictures you saw of that Playmate.
   239. tfbg9 Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:32 AM (#1606657)
Poor choice by Tito-Yukes would have made more sense, in at least he's has some PT in the last month.
   240. Los Angeles Waterloo of Black Hawk Posted: September 09, 2005 at 02:33 AM (#1606660)
Ah, just saw the check swing from last night. Bad call, but he did snap the bat back pretty quickly.

Larry Young does, indeed, suck.
   241. Captain Joe Bivens, Pointless and Wonderful Posted: September 09, 2005 at 01:02 PM (#1607025)
Larry Young is a joke. When Sciosia came out to argue the appeal play, Young said that Cabrera "never tagged up", and then said he "never touched the bag". The replay showed Cabrera standing on second while leaning toward third, with Young looking out toward Nixon. Cabrera left second after Nixon made the catch, but Young was still looking out toward right field. He was guessing.

More lip reading: The night before, Sciosia told Young he "didn't have the balls to make that call", re: the Ortiz check swing 3rd strike. Then, they went back and forth with "do your job!!" type comments. Cool stuff.
