   3. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:13 PM (#2172111)
Gotta love those first inning bunts...
   4. Bob Koo Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:15 PM (#2172113)
Willie's been good about resting his starters in the last couple weeks. He'll probably rest them more often once the division is officially clinched.
   5. Bob Koo Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:19 PM (#2172116)
Great pitching by El Duque. A nasty 3-1 changeup, followed by a curveball on the outside corner.
   6. Bob Koo Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:36 PM (#2172127)
DELGADIT!
   7. Greg Franklin Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:38 PM (#2172128)
Carlos! breaks off the Mott the Hoople reverie from the radio crew (Howie Rose I think)....

Seems to me the division is already unofficially clinched.

I am watching the Fox Sports feed, and the moron announcers are under the impression that they changed the name of the stadium from Arthur Ashe to Billie Jean King. How hard is it for those morons to understand that the Tennis Complex was named for King, and the largest stadium was, and remains, named for Ashe? And why doens't somebody correct them?
   9. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 05:55 PM (#2172136)
Seaver won three, Gooden won one. I think that's it.
   10. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:20 PM (#2172144)
Fortunately DTV EI is carrying this FOX broadcast. My local FOX is showing Duke-WF "football"
   11. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:24 PM (#2172147)
Butcher boy!
   12. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:24 PM (#2172148)
God, #### you and your bunting, Grady.
   13. Greg Franklin Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:30 PM (#2172154)
Drew! Covers for Maddux's baserunning mistake....
   14. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:37 PM (#2172157)
Holy ####. IBB to Beltran to pitch to Delgado?
   15. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:38 PM (#2172159)
Wow, walking Beltran to get to Delgado?
   16. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:40 PM (#2172161)
Well, that makes more sense. I didn't think Grady would pull Maddux to bring in the lefty as Maddux is pitching well.
   17. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:45 PM (#2172163)
so they're going after Wright, huh.
   18. Greg Franklin Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:45 PM (#2172164)
No IBB to Wright to pitch to Green? Another Grady choice....
   19. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:46 PM (#2172165)
That was a ball?

Oh, #### me.
   20. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:47 PM (#2172166)
D-Wright!
   21. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:47 PM (#2172167)
hahaha!
   22. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:47 PM (#2172169)
And there you hae it. And that is Maddux' run, so he's now looking at the loss. The Mets love bullpens!
   23. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:48 PM (#2172170)
The pitch to Green was higher than the pitch to Wright, Gerry...
   24. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:49 PM (#2172171)
Thank you Mets!
   25. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:51 PM (#2172172)
Who is the Mets color man? He sounds a lot like James Woods
   26. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:54 PM (#2172173)
Ron Darling.
   27. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:54 PM (#2172175)
I have Charlie Steiner and Steve Lyons, and they are calling it the Dodgers broadcast.
   28. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:56 PM (#2172178)
Nice pitch.
   29. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:58 PM (#2172181)
Maddux was only at 72 pitches?
   30. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:58 PM (#2172182)
WooShawn Green! Caught a routine FB!
   31. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 06:59 PM (#2172183)
Maddux was only at 72 pitches?

So was El Duque, through 5, both had thrown 61 pitches.
   32. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:01 PM (#2172184)
There we go. Very Nice game from El Duque.

That's big. Now let's tack on a few against this pen.
   33. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:02 PM (#2172186)
You gotta love Stache. 58 straight games without an error? Tremendous.

El Duque is fun to watch even when he is struggling.
   34. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:09 PM (#2172189)
Ahhh. Gary Cohen and Ron Darling for the Mets.
   35. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:12 PM (#2172192)
hee, the Stache!
   36. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:15 PM (#2172197)
luv ya Mets! One inning to go!
   37. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:16 PM (#2172199)
It really is amazing how good Valentin is defensively at second. The guy has barely played the position before this season.
   38. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:18 PM (#2172201)
Damn. Should have been 3 for Reyes.
   39. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:19 PM (#2172204)
That's bad managing. Don't bunt with the top of the order and guys who don't bunt.
   40. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:21 PM (#2172205)
Reyes picks up Stache. Wow he's exciting.
   41. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:21 PM (#2172206)
The guy has barely played the position before this season.

Um, he was a good fielding shortstop - I would *expect* him to be a good fielding 2B.
   42. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:27 PM (#2172208)
And suddenly Gerry Davis's zone is eight feet wide.
   43. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:29 PM (#2172209)
Don't like facing Kent here.
   44. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:30 PM (#2172210)
And suddenly Gerry Davis's zone is eight feet wide.

It's a conspiracy.
   45. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:36 PM (#2172213)
Now that's how you end a ballgame - K-CS DP!
   46. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:36 PM (#2172214)
You send a slow runner against a strikeout pitcher? Really, Grady?
   47. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:36 PM (#2172215)
YES!
   48. Greg Franklin Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:37 PM (#2172216)
Another good choice by Grady ... the hit-and-run DP.
   49. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:37 PM (#2172217)
Ah, hell, they pinch-ran while I was surfing. Point stands.
   50. North Side Chicago Expatriate Giants Fan Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:37 PM (#2172218)
GRady Little. Tactical genius.
   51. The Anthony Kennedy of BBTF (Scott) Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:38 PM (#2172219)
what a game!
   52. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:38 PM (#2172222)
I guess he was trying to stay out of the DP.
   53. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:39 PM (#2172223)
It's a conspiracy.

Yeah, genius, I wasn't just suggesting that Gerry Davis has #### for brains.
   54. Chris Dial Posted: September 09, 2006 at 07:43 PM (#2172226)
Yeah, genius, I wasn't just suggesting that Gerry Davis has #### for brains.

Sure you were.
   55. Bob Koo Posted: September 09, 2006 at 10:10 PM (#2172298)
Just saw the 2-2 pitch to Wright. Definitely appeared to be a strike.
And what a throw by Stinnett!
