How much longer can Davis stay in this lineup?
   2. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:25 PM (#4125812)
Oh dear, ESPN.

AGGGGGGHHHHH NO NOT THIS IDIOT
   3. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:30 PM (#4125815)
WOOHOOO!

Way to silently get out of it, Niese.

Because I had to mute my television.
   4. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:32 PM (#4125818)
Oh, thank god, it's also on SNY.
   5. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:37 PM (#4125822)
I've been out, but I hope someone somewhere is telling our hapless offense to run up the pitch count LIKE ANDRES TORRES IS. I still don't like him. But I can change.

Nice walk, Torres.

Huzzah!
   7. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:44 PM (#4125828)
WOOHOOO WRIGHT AND CAPTAIN KIRK!
   8. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 08:45 PM (#4125830)
I'm going to grab some antipasto, Acosta. Don't #### this up.
   9. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:11 PM (#4125866)
####### Turner is a shitty fielder.
   10. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:15 PM (#4125872)
Wow. Good call on the slide.

Manuel knew it, too. He was only out there for appearances, I think.
   11. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:28 PM (#4125895)
Duda has looked awful lately.

I ####### hate the sac bunt there, so, so stupid. Take the bat out of your best player's hands. Why?
   12. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:32 PM (#4125900)
Oh good lord.
   13. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4125904)
The fielding this inning is killing us.
   14. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:38 PM (#4125905)
I disagree with Hernandez, I don't think that's clean at all. He smashed his shoulder into Thole's head.
   15. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:42 PM (#4125908)
This team is really ###### if Thole is seriously concussed. I hope he's OK.
   16. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:43 PM (#4125910)
I thought it was clean, Lassus.
   17. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4125913)
I cannot BELIEVE we got out of that.
   18. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4125914)
Tim Byrdak, boss.
   19. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4125916)
I thought it was clean, Lassus.

I have a severe distrust of those plays, and lifting and turning one's shoulder does not help you knock the ball out. I just don't see it that way. I mean, I'm not saying that it isn't what many, many players do, but I don't think there's no thought process that goes into it.
   20. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4125917)
Watching the replay again, the cleanness of the hit seems less clear to me.
   21. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4125920)
I wasn't suggesting he hit him trying to knock the ball out. I just thought the contact was incidental. The last replay I saw has me unsure what to make of it.
   22. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4125923)
The only thing I'm sure of is that the idea of "Mike Nickeas: Everyday Catcher" scares the hell out of me.
   23. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4125927)
I think Thole will probably be fine.

I've gotten a bit weary of Turner.
   24. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4125929)
NICKEAS LAUGHS AT YOUR DOUBTS.

Sadly, Ike is not that fast.
   25. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4125930)
I apologize for speaking ill of you, Nickeas.

#######, Ike is slow. I admit I didn't think of it until after the fact, but someone should be running for Ike there.
   26. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4125932)
What we need here is a weird infield dribbler.
   27. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:03 PM (#4125934)
I don't know if I'm more confused or pleased with what I just saw.

   28. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:03 PM (#4125935)
I admit I didn't think of it until after the fact, but someone should be running for Ike there.

That's what I thought but really I think

Holy crap.
   29. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:05 PM (#4125938)
Well, that was wonderfully weird.

ANYHOW, I really don't think running for Ike is a good idea there. I think giving up your big bats like that when tied (as opposed to down, or something) just is a bad idea.
   30. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:08 PM (#4125941)
It's definitely debatable, and I can't really get on Collins about it. Also, I'd generally agree with you, but Ike is Molina slow.

Please stop talking about Omir Santos, Gary.
   31. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4125942)
I guess it's good Ike stayed in for his defense.

   32. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4125943)
Wow. Nice play.
   33. Lassus Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:10 PM (#4125944)
Please stop talking about Omir Santos, Gary.

OK, reading that was a real, true, LOL moment.
   34. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:11 PM (#4125945)
That was the best Francisco has looked as a Met. Excellent game.
   35. formerly dp Posted: May 07, 2012 at 10:15 PM (#4125952)
That might have been the most exciting and improbable win of the season.

I'm still not sorry I mocked Nickeas relentlessly this offseason.

Was on the phone with the wife during the ninth inning, and tried to explain how improbable the sequence of events was, and the stars that had to align for it to happen (Tejada and Thole injuries). Was met by the telephonic equivalent of the blank stare.
