I really dislike Randy Wells.

Kinda bummed Rizzo is making is debut on a Tuesday, since MLB Network is airing a game instead of MLB Tonight. With WGN not carrying the game, MLB Tonight was the only chance I had at seeing Rizzo's first AB.

Hi slapped a fastball hard at SS that was misplayed by Ruben Tejada. You didn't miss much.
   4. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 08:26 PM (#4167248)
I can claim I saw Gary Scott's first Cub start and now Rizzo's. What a full life.
   5. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 26, 2012 at 08:37 PM (#4167264)
Well, I WAS going to question why Wells didn't pitch around the 8 hitter to get to the pitcher, but...
   6. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 08:43 PM (#4167271)
It will be interesting to see what happens to Wells once Garza and Dempster are traded. I wonder if Theo will seek prospects close to the Majors or accept long term development types.

With both Soriano and LaHair in the outfield, the Cubs are going to give up a lot of doubles like that with their lack of range.
   8. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:07 PM (#4167300)
Nice set-up for Rizzo's first home run as a Cub.
   9. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:24 PM (#4167321)
Wells can't get through 4 innings. Is there no better option at AA or AAA?
   10. McCoy Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:43 PM (#4167339)
Big moment.
   11. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4167342)
The legend of Rizzo begins....
   12. McCoy Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4167344)
Woot-woot!

Rizzo gets a double and Soriano gets to increase his OBP.
   13. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:47 PM (#4167346)
Who do the Cubs retaliate against for hitting Soriano? Do you bean Jason Bay in the dugout because I can't think of who else is old and broken down on the Amazings.
   14. McCoy Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4167350)
Now the legend of LaHair gets to grow.
   15. McCoy Posted: June 26, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4167351)
Or not.

Another bases loaded nothing.
   16. Meatwad Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:38 PM (#4167387)
Did soriano just get hit again?
   17. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:42 PM (#4167391)
Did soriano just get hit again?

Well its not like he has cat-like reflexes out there.
   18. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:49 PM (#4167395)
Clevenger has a pretty damn good arm.
   19. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:50 PM (#4167397)
Rizzo looks like a great receiver at first.
   20. Meatwad Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4167402)
I think the cubs may actually have a cromulant core of young position.players to not suck too much in the future
   21. Meatwad Posted: June 26, 2012 at 10:55 PM (#4167407)
Is marmol our only hope to see rizzo bat again tonight
   22. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:04 PM (#4167412)
If 2 out of Johnson, DeJesus, and Castro can reach, he'd bat in this inning.
   23. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:06 PM (#4167413)
Davis would be due up 4th in the 9th inning, right? And now tossed from the game?
   24. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:09 PM (#4167414)
The Mets are not a very good fielding team.
   25. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:09 PM (#4167415)
Need Castro to reach to see Rizzo again here...
   26. Spahn Insane Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:15 PM (#4167420)
Davis due up third, replaced by quintanilla. How bad was the call he got tossed on? I can't see from up here.
   27. Spahn Insane Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:18 PM (#4167421)
Oh, and remind me what Marmol did to regain the closer role?
   28. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:18 PM (#4167422)
It looked like the runner was out, though Davis was basically blocking the first base bag. Tossing Davis for arguing it seemed unnecessary unless he told the ump he was ####### his daughter or something.
   29. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:18 PM (#4167424)
Clevinger probably was out at 1st on the pickoff play.
I fuccking hate Carlos Marmol.
   30. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:19 PM (#4167425)
David bumped the ump=automatic ejection.
   31. Dan Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:21 PM (#4167428)
Did he? I missed that.
   32. SteveM. Posted: June 26, 2012 at 11:27 PM (#4167430)
Marmol came through. Will wonders never cease?
