Hey everybody, I'm here to enjoy my first uninterrupted Mets game in a long time.

Someone said yesterday that Humber was being called up. Is this true?
   2. Joshemy Posted: September 03, 2006 at 05:12 PM (#2166363)
Hmm... this game is on SNY. I was hoping for WB11.
   3. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 05:22 PM (#2166376)
If no one has read this NY Times Heath Bell story, it's a must.

Jeremy, how was the first game? I got numerous phone calls from PSU friends reminding me SU lost to Wake Forest. It was depressing, but funny in a sadistic way. Last night was a good night though.

Jeremy, how was the first game?

Tons of fun, as always. The weather was terribly crappy, but that in itself added a little fun to it. We played pretty well, though a little sloppy. The game at Notre Dame next week will be interesting.

I got numerous phone calls from PSU friends reminding me SU lost to Wake Forest.

Funny, because I considered this myself.
   5. Joshemy Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:05 PM (#2166418)
What's the word on Beltran? I saw the highlight of the play and it didn't look too serious.
   6. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:13 PM (#2166441)
"Scouting report: Funky Town"

Thanks a lot FSN Houston, very helpful.
   7. stubbyc Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:35 PM (#2166461)
Nice play by DeFelice
   8. stubbyc Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:39 PM (#2166463)
It's pretty hard to describe how bad of a hitter Brad Ausmus is.
   9. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:49 PM (#2166470)
It's pretty hard to describe how bad of a hitter Brad Ausmus is.

He's better than DiFelice.
   10. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:58 PM (#2166479)
That was terrible.
   11. CrosbyBird Posted: September 03, 2006 at 06:58 PM (#2166480)
The Mets should have had two there.
   12. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:09 PM (#2166493)
Oswalt is going to pitch a perfect game.
   13. stubbyc Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:24 PM (#2166504)
It'd be a shame if the Astros can't score a run the way Oswalt's pitching today.
   14. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:26 PM (#2166505)
Oswalt looks mighty impressive.
   15. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:34 PM (#2166510)
Howard is quickly robbing Beltran of the MVP.
   16. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:36 PM (#2166513)
Good news, gentlemen. I'm here and I'm bringing the end of the perfect game.
   17. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:38 PM (#2166515)
Howard is quickly robbing Beltran of the MVP.

Yeah, it's going to suck. The only chance is that the Phillies miss the playoffs, go Pads!
   18. Joshemy Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:41 PM (#2166518)
Well, Pujols is keeping pace, as he just blasted his third of the day.
   19. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:41 PM (#2166519)
The Phillies aren't gonna make the playoffs. Mark it down. They'll collapse soon.
   20. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:44 PM (#2166522)
Chad Bradford time?
   21. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:46 PM (#2166524)
Hernandez is having his crappy inning later in the game for a change.
   22. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:46 PM (#2166525)
Kool Aid? This screams grand slam.
   23. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:46 PM (#2166527)
And they're bringing in Kool-Aid. Good luck.
   24. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:49 PM (#2166529)
Believe in the Kool-Aid.
   25. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:51 PM (#2166534)
I hope the Astros lose this game 2-1.
   26. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:53 PM (#2166535)
Jesus Mustacho.
   27. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:53 PM (#2166538)
Jeez, Valentin almost took a little too much time there.
   28. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:53 PM (#2166539)
Alright, good enough.
   29. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:54 PM (#2166540)
Wow. How little confidence in your hitters do you have when you are basically saying that you are happy with one run with the bases loaded and one out?
   30. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:57 PM (#2166544)
Perfect game? No hitter? Astros fans ar about to be seriously disapointed.
   31. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:57 PM (#2166545)
Reyes!
   32. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:57 PM (#2166546)
Bye bye no no.
   33. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:58 PM (#2166547)
Yes, Russlan, I told the missu what a terible idea that was. This game won't end 1-0.
   34. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 03, 2006 at 07:59 PM (#2166549)
Is that a hit or an error?
   35. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:00 PM (#2166551)
Gamecast has it as an error.
   36. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:00 PM (#2166552)
It was a hit.
   37. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#2166554)
Gamecenter also has it as an error. There is no way that shouldn't be a hit.
   38. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#2166555)
It was scored a hit - they showed it on teh scoreboard.
   39. Rob Base Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:02 PM (#2166556)
Hi gang. How is everyone?
   40. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:03 PM (#2166560)
The Astros broadcast has it as a hit.
   41. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:03 PM (#2166561)
Shawn Green sucks.
   42. stubbyc Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:04 PM (#2166564)
"Wow. How little confidence in your hitters do you have when you are basically saying that you are happy with one run with the bases loaded and one out?"

With Everett and Ausmus coming up? I'm ####### ecstatic.
   43. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:04 PM (#2166565)
Damn. Lineout.
   44. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:05 PM (#2166567)
Base, I have a question for you?

Is Dial your DJ EZ Rock?
   45. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:08 PM (#2166569)
Ha! Braves score 4 in the top of the 9th to take a 7-6 lead over the Phillies.
   46. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:08 PM (#2166570)
Can we please not put Kool Aid on the postseason roster?
   47. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:10 PM (#2166572)
How early can Kelly Stinnett make it to Shea?
   48. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:10 PM (#2166573)
Is everyone off the "Shawn Green is good for something" crack?
   49. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:10 PM (#2166574)
Kool-Aid rocks, you'll see.
   50. Rob Base Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:11 PM (#2166575)
I'm in a good mood, Russlan, so sure, Dial can be my DJ EZ Rock. God bless us everyone.

Anyway, I'm off to get married in a few minutes, but I thought I would stop in and say hello to my favorite group of internet geeks. And I don't mean that in a pejorative sense.

Cheers!
   51. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:11 PM (#2166576)
Okay, so why is Willie using Oliver as a LOOGY, when he has two other real LOOGYs out there?
   52. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:12 PM (#2166578)
Is everyone off the "Shawn Green is good for something" crack?

I haven't been on it since 2003.
   53. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:13 PM (#2166580)
Matt,
have you seen teh players in today's game? this is scrub day.
   54. Banta Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:14 PM (#2166581)
Good luck, Rob.
   55. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:15 PM (#2166582)
Endy catches everything.
   56. CraigK Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:16 PM (#2166585)
Wow.

Two hits total.

Geez.
   57. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:19 PM (#2166587)
Matt,
have you seen teh players in today's game? this is scrub day.

I guess.
   58. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:19 PM (#2166588)
Gosh Woody is just done.
   59. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:20 PM (#2166591)
Think Fonzie could replace Woody with a few good weeks in Sept?
   60. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#2166592)
Pujols, with 3 homers, coming up to bat.
   61. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#2166593)
Randolph will not let DiFelice hit, will he?
   62. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#2166594)
DiFelice? How is this guy on a major league roster?

Our lineup include: Endy Chavez, Shawn Green, Chris Woodward and Mike DiFelice. Hey, at least we have Michael Tucker to pinch hit!
   63. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:22 PM (#2166597)
Pujols flew out to the warning track.

Oh goody, Tucker's up.
   64. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:23 PM (#2166598)
Phils win it in the ninth. Victorino GW single.
   65. CraigK Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:24 PM (#2166601)
Perfect game? No hitter? Astros fans ar about to be seriously disapointed.

At least they've had one.
   66. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:24 PM (#2166602)
Hey oh Tucker!
   67. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:25 PM (#2166603)
Alright Tucker!
   68. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:29 PM (#2166611)
Damn.
   69. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:34 PM (#2166615)
At least they've had one.

I don't mind.
   70. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:47 PM (#2166630)
Damn. Back to back?
   71. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:47 PM (#2166631)
Delgado!

Too bad Green is up next.
   72. Old Matt Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:48 PM (#2166632)
CUT SHAWN GREEN.
   73. Chris Dial Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:49 PM (#2166634)
Shawn Green SUCKS!
   74. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:51 PM (#2166636)
Yeah, we know, they had one hit. Oddly, no mention of the 9 walks.
   75. villainx Posted: September 03, 2006 at 08:56 PM (#2166642)
Lidge sucks, he's single-handedly making sure my fantasy league team era does not improve.
   76. J. Cross Posted: September 03, 2006 at 09:07 PM (#2166650)
Yes, Green sucks. Just gotta hope that Chavez and Floyd do enough between now and the playoffs that we get the two of them in the corners come playoff time. Also, it would probably be better if Mets management realizes how much Green sucks now as opposed to wasting at bats on his either in the playoffs or next season so a miserable performance by Green over the final month might be a blessing in disguise.
