8 homegrown Mets in the lineup tonight, cool.

My first chance to see Nieuwenhuis, I'm excited.
   2. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:20 PM (#4101759)
Free preview of MLB EI is awesome.

Mike Pelfrey is not.
   3. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:20 PM (#4101760)
Hello! Just turned on the game.

Oh Mike Pelfrey. Could you not be terrible, please?
   4. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:30 PM (#4101781)
I love Ruben's ABs.
   5. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:46 PM (#4101824)
That's better, Pelf!

Too bad Ike and Bay are such stiffs at the moment.
   6. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:48 PM (#4101836)
I bought in hard on Ike in fantasy leagues this year. And named a team after the Valley Fever thing.

I blame myself for what is occurring so far.
   7. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:55 PM (#4101851)
I think Ike is the only Met I have in fantasy this year. I was hoping to get Niese or Duda, but it never worked out.
   8. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 07:58 PM (#4101861)
I have a lot of Mets this year. Wright, Murphy (as a backup), Johan, and now Francisco off waivers.

And Reyes.

Pelf! Going well.
   9. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:00 PM (#4101867)
Whoops.
   10. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:02 PM (#4101871)
Bad call.
   11. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:03 PM (#4101875)
As soon as Keith and Ron (and I) said how good Pelf was doing, this happened. It's my fault.
   12. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:03 PM (#4101877)
Pelf sucks.
   13. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:08 PM (#4101887)
People laugh at me, but I've always thought Pelf had a good swing.
   14. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:14 PM (#4101903)
Good David is such a fantastic thing.
   15. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:22 PM (#4101925)
Ron is pissed.
   16. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:35 PM (#4101962)
KIRK!
   17. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:35 PM (#4101963)
Kirk!
   18. Adam Starblind Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:35 PM (#4101964)
Kirk to the bridge!!!! (not really, but you can't coin something like that too early)
   19. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:38 PM (#4101966)
Late, but Nieuwenhuis!!
   20. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:48 PM (#4101984)
I like this Mike Pelfrey that changes speeds and locations.
   21. Adam Starblind Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:52 PM (#4101996)
So, it looks like there's about 3500 fans at the game tonight. Thanks, Wilpons!
   22. Adam Starblind Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:53 PM (#4101999)
I had no idea Tom Goodwin was with the Mets.
   23. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:55 PM (#4102008)
Crap. I was really looking forward to some Wright awesomeness there.
   24. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 08:57 PM (#4102012)
Murphy, that was a bad idea.
   25. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:06 PM (#4102038)
Boo! Give him one more guy.
   26. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:06 PM (#4102041)
Shame Pelf couldn't get out of that inning.

I would like to believe this is a positive for Pelf, but there needs to be more.

Relying on a 41-year-old journeyman here does not fill me with confidence.
   27. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:09 PM (#4102050)
Having Batista and DIckey on the same staff is pretty sweet, in terms of the whole thoughtful/intelligence thing.

I am also not all that confident in the former's pitching ability.
   28. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:11 PM (#4102054)
Whew.
   29. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:30 PM (#4102096)
One batter too late, Terry.
   30. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:31 PM (#4102099)
Why was Batista pitching in a tie game in the 7th?
   31. Esoteric Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:36 PM (#4102113)
Jayson Werth double play: you know it's going to happen.
   32. Esoteric Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:37 PM (#4102119)
And who called it?
   33. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:37 PM (#4102120)
NICE
   34. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:37 PM (#4102121)
That works.
   35. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:38 PM (#4102123)
Good to see you here, Eso.
   36. Esoteric Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:38 PM (#4102124)
Boy that's going to go down as a mighty fine contract.
   37. Esoteric Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:39 PM (#4102131)
Thanks, Lassus. Hope springs eternal for the Mets this season! (And the Nats, but I'll defer to the overwhelming pro-Met sentiment on BTF.)
   38. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:44 PM (#4102144)
Ruben Tejada is awesome.
   39. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4102147)
I've been down on Tejada as a hitter the last couple of years. So far, I've enjoyed him this year.
   40. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:45 PM (#4102149)
but I'll defer to the overwhelming pro-Met sentiment on BTF

Heh. Not this year.
   41. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4102151)
OK, Davis, time to get it done.
   42. Esoteric Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4102152)
So sure, Jayson Werth looks like he's going to be a $150,000,000+ suckhole of failure. But hey, Adam LaRoche: lookin' good!
   43. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4102153)
Come on Ike, let's get this done.
   44. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4102156)
I actually took a chance on Werth for my fantasy team this year. Not looking like such a great idea.
   45. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 09:49 PM (#4102160)
Ike looks all messed up right now.
   46. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4102224)
It is painful to listen to Ron and Keith - possibly even honestly - talk of Hairston like his presence is a positive. Keith seemed almost surprised he struck out there.
   47. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4102260)
Murph?

MURPH!
   48. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4102261)
Daniel Murphy can play second base.
   49. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4102263)
Daniel Murphy: second baseman.
   50. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:21 PM (#4102267)
Please win the game, Mets, I would like to go to bed early.
   51. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:26 PM (#4102279)
That was kind of hilarious.
   52. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:26 PM (#4102281)
Craziness!
   53. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4102291)
Come on, Murph!
   54. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4102292)
Oh, be quiet, Gary. No one is walking Murphy to get to Wright.
   55. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4102298)
Ballgame!
   56. Dog on the sidewalk has an ugly bracelet Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4102299)
Daniel Murphy can also hit.

Weeeeeeeeeee.
   57. Joshemy Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4102300)
MURPH!

Put it in the books!
   58. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:29 PM (#4102301)
Daniel Murphy is pretty good.
   59. Lassus Posted: April 09, 2012 at 10:31 PM (#4102308)
Good thing Werth sucks, Baxter looked like a keystone kop there.
