Pedro is the awesomeness.
   2. Old Matt Posted: April 28, 2006 at 05:22 PM (#1994153)
Ah, good old 7:35 starts. This comes in handy.

Flyers are on at 7, so I'll be watching them mostly.

Hmm. This on TBS?
   4. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: April 28, 2006 at 05:49 PM (#1994190)
According to Yahoo, it's SNY and FSS.
   5. Joshemy Posted: April 28, 2006 at 05:49 PM (#1994191)
Hmm. This on TBS?

Negative. SNY for the Mets, Turner South for the Braves.
   6. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 05:58 PM (#1994217)
God,

Please don't let MLB.tv use the Braves' station feed.

Signed,
Everyone.

God, and turner suck is about to get worse.

changing up the broadcast team

I guess I shouldn't bother going over to the gf's house to watch the game, at least, since it won't be on.
   9. Old Matt Posted: April 28, 2006 at 06:16 PM (#1994252)
Torborg!?!? Hahaha!
   10. Free Rob Base Posted: April 28, 2006 at 07:24 PM (#1994366)
Barry Bonds is an average leftfielder.
   11. Bob Koo Posted: April 28, 2006 at 08:37 PM (#1994492)
Oh my gosh. Eddie C. on WFAN just reported that Yusaku Iriki tested positive for steroids! Also, Bannister on the DL, Diaz up with the team. With Bannister missing more than one start, hopefully they'll turn to Maine.
   12. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 08:38 PM (#1994496)
Bannister to the DL, Diaz up.

The Mets will probably send Victor down on Tuesday when they'll most likely activate a SP to make the start. One thing is for sure. It won't be Yusako Iriki who was suspended 50 games for using steroids.
   13. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: April 28, 2006 at 09:04 PM (#1994553)
Whoops - way to go, Yusako.

Glad to see they aren't messing around with Bannister.
   14. Honkie Kong Posted: April 28, 2006 at 09:08 PM (#1994560)
I have a bad feeling about this game :-(

Trying to go to this game...lets see if I am successful! Is Renteria back for this one?
Kind of not sorry that I didn't show up for the Brewers' games chatter. Was working and had access to mlb.tv only most of the time.
btw does anyone how to activate the mlb mosaic thing? It says it is available, but i still get the cruddy ol thing
   15. Шĥy Posted: April 28, 2006 at 10:26 PM (#1994618)
Is Renteria back for this one?

He is supposed to be in the lineup tonight.
   16. CFBF is Obsessed with Art Deco Posted: April 28, 2006 at 10:55 PM (#1994647)
Looks like Sam M gets his wish. Braves' lineup is fully functional once again.

Giles, Renteria and Chipper all there. Thus, no Orr, no Tony Pena, Langerhans in the back end of the lineup.
   17. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:02 PM (#1994654)
Looks like Sam M gets his wish. Braves' lineup is fully functional once again.

I knew Sam M.'s sexual orientation wasn't exactly conventional, but I never knew he was into masochism.
   18. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:08 PM (#1994662)
Beltran not in the lineup.
   19. Bob Koo Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:31 PM (#1994703)
Beltran not in the lineup.

Sigh.
   20. Ska Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:35 PM (#1994707)
Beltran is never in the lineup, even when he is in the lineup. When they make a list of gutless soft players, Beltran will be on top of the list. Ditto for the list of biggest free agent busts.
   21. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:37 PM (#1994711)
Leadoff walk for Reyes!
   22. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:37 PM (#1994713)
Reyes walk!
   23. Banta Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#1994715)
How about that Reyes?
   24. rb's team is hopeful for the new year! Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:38 PM (#1994716)
Too bad there is zero chance of me catching any of this game.
   25. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:39 PM (#1994717)
OBP is meaningless!

Reyes: OBP .296, runs 18.
Bonds: OBP .537, runs 11.

:)
   26. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:40 PM (#1994718)
I'm not used to speedy players. How many players go 1st to 3rd on such a shallow single?
   27. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:41 PM (#1994722)
It helped that Reyes was running on the play.
   28. Banta Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:41 PM (#1994724)
That's the worst at bat I've seen Delgado have this year.
   29. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:42 PM (#1994726)
Delgado finally has people on base in front of him and he strikes out.
   30. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:44 PM (#1994728)
Productive out!
   31. Banta Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:46 PM (#1994734)
At they scored a run. I can remember a time where the Mets would strand that run consistently.

It's called pre-2006.
   32. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#1994736)
Play hurt? Get criticized.
Wait until you are helthy to play? Get criticized.
Sometimes you can never win, eh?
   33. zack Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#1994737)
This will mark the 8th straight game mlb.tv hasn't worked for me and I haven't been able to get through on the phone. Can I get my money back?
   34. Banta Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:47 PM (#1994739)
My last post is missing the word "least." Put it in wherever you see fit.
   35. Banta Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:49 PM (#1994742)
This will mark the 8th straight game mlb.tv hasn't worked for me and I haven't been able to get through on the phone. Can I get my money back?

That's horrible. I would have driven to Bud Selig's house by now and held him hostage, so I commend you on your patience.
   36. Bob Koo Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:49 PM (#1994743)
Nice catch by Nady.
   37. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:50 PM (#1994744)
MLB.tv is working for me.

Nady makes everything an adventure.
   38. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:51 PM (#1994748)
Zack, have yo tried more than one computer?
   39. Sam M. Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:53 PM (#1994751)
Missed most of that inning, but Pedro seems to have some live stuff tonight.

I knew Sam M.'s sexual orientation wasn't exactly conventional, but I never knew he was into masochism.

Neither did I. But as Buddy Holly once said, "You don't know what you been missin', oh boy. When you're with me, oh boy."
   40. zack Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:54 PM (#1994752)
Yeah, I have a second PC attached to my tv so I can watch the games with friends, but neither it or my desktop work. Archived games play fine, but live games don't play at all.
   41. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:55 PM (#1994754)
Matsui is absolutely helpless against Smoltz.
   42. Sam M. Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#1994755)
But seriously, what CFBF is talking about is that I said I want the Mets to beat the Braves at their best so that if/when their streak finally does end, it ends with the best team Schuerholz and Cox could put together that year having been the one to lose it on the field, rather than on the DL.
   43. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#1994757)
Zack, why don't you try a computer away fom your house? That way you can fnd out if it's your computer or your account.
   44. Sam M. Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:56 PM (#1994759)
Francoeur is even more helpless against Matsui than Matsui is against Smoltz.
   45. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:57 PM (#1994762)
Francoeur doing his best Nady impression.
   46. Bob Koo Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:57 PM (#1994763)
Let me say that I wholeheartedly agree with the Braves' decision to leave Jeff Francoeur in the everyday lineup.
   47. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:57 PM (#1994764)
This is where the Mets are really going to miss Beltran.
   48. Sam M. Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:58 PM (#1994769)
Endy Chavez is just awful.
   49. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM (#1994771)
I hate Endy.
   50. Free Rob Base Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM (#1994774)
Nady should have went. Worst case is first and third one out.
   51. Bob Koo Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM (#1994775)
Nady should've been running on contact.
   52. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM (#1994776)
Endy Chavez sucks.
   53. CrosbyBird Posted: April 28, 2006 at 11:59 PM (#1994777)
But seriously, what CFBF is talking about is that I said I want the Mets to beat the Braves at their best so that if/when their streak finally does end, it ends with the best team Schuerholz and Cox could put together that year having been the one to lose it on the field, rather than on the DL.

I agree. I don't want people cheapening the changing of the guard.
   54. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:00 AM (#1994779)
Killer. Just killer.
   55. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:00 AM (#1994780)
I hate Endy Chavez. I'm sorry but you gotta be going with the pitcher hitting next.
   56. zack Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:01 AM (#1994782)
(Forgetting) with the network settings inexplicably gave me video! There is no reason why it should, so maybe it was coincidence, so I'm not going to complain (today). Plus the muzak on hold was driving me nuts.

LETS GO METS!
   57. Free Rob Base Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:01 AM (#1994784)
Gotta score a run there. Damn.
   58. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:02 AM (#1994786)
Nady needed to be going on Endy's groundball. It was the best chance of scoring that inning.
   59. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:05 AM (#1994792)
Huge strike zone for the pitchers.
   60. CrosbyBird Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:07 AM (#1994796)
Nady should have tried to bunt three times.
   61. CrosbyBird Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:07 AM (#1994799)
Endy should have tried to bunt three times.
   62. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:08 AM (#1994800)
For a second there, I thought Frenchie would get his first walk of the season.
   63. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:08 AM (#1994801)
Pedro should have tried to bunt three times.
   64. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:09 AM (#1994802)
What's Pedro hitting on the gun? Looks like he's got some zip on his fastball.
   65. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:11 AM (#1994807)
OFF, I have to root for Arsenal against Barca. No Calvin Klein models play at the Nou Camp.
   66. zack Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:11 AM (#1994808)
These announcers are terrible.
   67. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:12 AM (#1994812)
I swear to god, if Lima gets Bannister's spot, >insert idle thread here<.
   68. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:12 AM (#1994814)
Nasty pitch to Lo Duca. Goodbye.
   69. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:13 AM (#1994816)
Abajo Lo Duca! Free Castro.
   70. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:16 AM (#1994824)
Nice slide by Wright.
   71. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:17 AM (#1994825)
I didn't think that was going to be close at all.
   72. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:17 AM (#1994827)
You don't run on Frenchie.
   73. zack Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:18 AM (#1994829)
These announcers are terrible

Ha! I didn't even realize it was Toborg. That is perfect.

Frankie has a canon.
   74. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:19 AM (#1994832)
I do not like this pattern at all.
   75. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:20 AM (#1994837)
Smoltz is already at 61 pitches. Even though the Mets haven't been scoring, at least they are making him work.
   76. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:21 AM (#1994839)
I do not like this pattern at all.

Better than Smoltz not throwing pitches.
   77. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:22 AM (#1994843)
That semifinal was highway robbery, Sam. No way Shevchenko touched Puyol. No way, no how. That was a legit goal.

Lets hope the Gunners can make it right and prevent the evil forces at Catalunya from doing more harm.
   78. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:26 AM (#1994850)
Oh my god. Marcus Giles scares the living crap out of me everytime he comes to the plate.
   79. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:27 AM (#1994855)
Marcus Giles terrifies me. He scares me way more than either of the Jones brothers.
   80. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:29 AM (#1994859)
And another episode of "Holy Crap, Ralph Kiner Is Still Alive!" on SNY.
   81. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:31 AM (#1994865)
That semifinal was highway robbery, Sam. No way Shevchenko touched Puyol. No way, no how. That was a legit goal.

Perhaps, but can you really deny it was totally against the run of play? Barca was the better team for the semifinal, and the deserved finalist.

If Arsenal can somehow shut them down, for eleven straight shutouts in CL play, that will be one of the great feats ever, particularly with having taken out Madrid, Juve, and Barca along the way. That'll never be matched.
   82. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:32 AM (#1994870)
Whoo! Go Kaz!
   83. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:33 AM (#1994875)
Great AB by Matsui. I thought he was going to strike out for sure after he fell behind 0-2. He should steal.
   84. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:33 AM (#1994877)
Is there a bigger gap between offensive and defensive prowess in the majors than Endy? If there is, he's on the Mets' own DL (IPOR).
   85. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:33 AM (#1994879)
I'm definitely not a Chavista. Just forgetting bunt.
   86. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:34 AM (#1994883)
Well, at least he didn't hit into a DP.
   87. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:35 AM (#1994884)
Pedro... ew.
   88. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:35 AM (#1994885)
Oh, that was really hideous, Pedro.
   89. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:36 AM (#1994888)
Kaz beat that good throw by a mile. Nice!
   90. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994890)
I was reading the paper here today and they had a article on the Mets. The author said said Jose Reyes "was a below average defender" but "made up for it with his offense" and called Reyes a "dangerous hitter".

My favorite part is that he used those same descriptions about Carlos Delgado too. Well, yeah, if you think Reyes is a dangerous hitter of course Delgado is.
   91. Bob Koo Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994891)
It's in the gap! A Reyes triple!
   92. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994892)
WHOOOOO!!!! GREAT AT BAT REYES
   93. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994893)
REYES!

Wow. What an AB!
   94. zack Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994894)
REYES!

His new eyes are really impressing me.
   95. Sam M. Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994895)
A Reyes triple is a joy forever.
   96. CrosbyBird Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994896)
Reyes may have officially cracked the slump.
   97. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:38 AM (#1994897)
Jose!!!
   98. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:39 AM (#1994899)
Triple!
   99. Banta Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:40 AM (#1994901)
Wow, this strikezone is MASSIVE
   100. I Love LA (OFF) Posted: April 29, 2006 at 12:41 AM (#1994904)
You gotta be kidding me, LoDuca. What the hell was that?
