   101. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:08 AM (#2199909)
Kuo really got hurt mentally by Chavez.
   102. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:09 AM (#2199910)
Shawn Green should not start another game this year. Period.
   103. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:09 AM (#2199911)
Come on, Jose. Get this run in, baby. Get it in.
   104. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:09 AM (#2199913)
Alright, let's go Jose.
   105. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:09 AM (#2199914)
Reyes really needs to not K or popup.
   106. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:10 AM (#2199915)
Jose needs to chill.
   107. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:10 AM (#2199916)
Ugh. Not liking these swings from Jose.
   108. Srul Itza Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:11 AM (#2199917)
If Reyes only knew how to drag a bunt for a base hit, this could be fun.
   109. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:11 AM (#2199918)
I was thinking in this situation, Reyes could bat lefty and drag it...
   110. Jorge Luis Bourjos (Walewander) Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:12 AM (#2199919)
Its fitting that 8/10 guys on Endy's similar by age list have great names. Including Ping Bodie, Von Joshua and Maurice Van Robays.
   111. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:12 AM (#2199920)
That'll do Reyes.
   112. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:13 AM (#2199921)
Beautiful, Jose.
   113. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:13 AM (#2199922)
Well, that works - an Endy run!
   114. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:13 AM (#2199923)
Good enough. Absolutely good enough. Nice contact by Reyes to stay alive -- if over-aggressive early in the count.
   115. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:13 AM (#2199924)
Productive out!
   116. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:13 AM (#2199925)
Is anything about this season funnier than Henderson calling him "Rey"?

Nice!
   117. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:14 AM (#2199926)
I don't think Reyes was running hard out of the box.
   118. Richie Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:14 AM (#2199927)
boo
   119. Srul Itza Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:14 AM (#2199928)
8 pitches and a run. Okay at bat.

And Lo Duca actually took a pitch!
   120. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:15 AM (#2199929)
LoDuca!

Kenny Lofton got a bad read on that.
   121. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:15 AM (#2199930)
Ripped by Paulie.
   122. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:15 AM (#2199931)
Maurice Van Robays.

You made that one up. That's got to be a Dutch painter, right?

LoDuca!!! Come on, Carlos # 1. Time to join the party!
   123. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:15 AM (#2199932)
And LoDuca doubles over the CF wall. Come on, MVP!
   124. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:15 AM (#2199933)
Lo Duca! Let's go Carlos!
   125. J. Cross Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:16 AM (#2199934)
Please, please, give me Aaron Sele!
   126. Old Matt Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:17 AM (#2199935)
I pretty much love Endy Chavez.
   127. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:17 AM (#2199936)
News flash, guys: Shea is a pitcher's park.
   128. Srul Itza Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:17 AM (#2199937)
Three innings and over 60 pitches.

So how is that Dodger middle relief? I mean, aside from Brad Penny?
   129. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:18 AM (#2199938)
Up to 61 pitches, plus the pen already going... that's a good sign. Bring me Sele & Tomko!
   130. J. Cross Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:18 AM (#2199939)
Not so hot by Beltran but another longish inning and most importantly, first blood.
   131. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:18 AM (#2199940)
Kuo is already at 62 pitches. A couple of long PAs next inning, and Kuo will be out before 6.
   132. Jorge Luis Bourjos (Walewander) Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:19 AM (#2199941)
Maurice played seven seasons with the Bucs in the 40s. Once drove in 116 runs with only a .718 OPS! Finished 24th in the MVP voting that year. I love this game, and BRef.
   133. Old Matt Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:21 AM (#2199942)
####. There goes the no-no.
   134. J. Cross Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:21 AM (#2199943)
Tomko can probably throw hard as a reliever. Billingsley is on the roster too. Between those two, Penny, Broxton and Saito I'd say they have a solid pen, no?
   135. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:21 AM (#2199944)
So much for the first one . . . .
   136. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:22 AM (#2199945)
Nomar should borrow Buckner's old high-tops for the rest of this series.
   137. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:23 AM (#2199946)
Nomar doesn't look good running at all.

Of all teh Dodger hitters, I worry the most about Kent hurting us.
   138. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:24 AM (#2199947)
And he singles. Glavine is getting the ball up a little.
   139. Don August(us) Cesar Geronimo Berroa Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:24 AM (#2199949)
Did he just say that Jeff Kent was arguably the greatest hitting second baseman in major league history?
   140. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:25 AM (#2199950)
Great pitch inside to Drew.
   141. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:25 AM (#2199951)
OK, Tommy. This is time to really be tough . . . spend some energy to get this done here. The pen is for the 6th.
   142. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199952)
SIT
   143. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199953)
Perfect pitch!
   144. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199954)
Yes, he said that because he's a moron (re Kent)
   145. Richie Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199955)
Time for JD Drew to care about an at-bat. - Bill Simmons
   146. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199956)
Outstanding work to Drew. Great, great stuff. One more, right now. Martin is tough, though. Not the guy I want up w/ the tying RISP.
   147. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199957)
Did he just say that Jeff Kent was arguably the greatest hitting second baseman in major league history?

I'll rewind after the inning.
   148. Srul Itza Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:26 AM (#2199958)
Nice sequence there to Drew.
   149. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:28 AM (#2199960)
Heady play by Martin...
   150. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:28 AM (#2199961)
Beltran is in outer space. HAH! Swinging 3-0. Moron.
   151. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:28 AM (#2199962)
That works
   152. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:28 AM (#2199963)
Wow. Wasn't Glavine trying to work around Martin there -- and Martin wouldn't let him! Thanks, rook.
   153. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:28 AM (#2199964)
Tommy!
   154. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:29 AM (#2199965)
Beltran is in outer space.

He's the anti-Agbayani.
   155. J. Cross Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:30 AM (#2199966)
Of all teh Dodger hitters, I worry the most about Kent hurting us.

Maybe. It's that entire Nomar, Kent, Drew threesome that worries me.
   156. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:30 AM (#2199968)
Did he just say that Jeff Kent was arguably the greatest hitting second baseman in major league history?

Count the homerzzzz!
   157. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:31 AM (#2199969)
139 - "when you look at some of the numbers Kent has compiled now in his career ... arguably the greatest offensive 2B in the history of the game."

Someone wake up the Rajah.
   158. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:33 AM (#2199972)
Nice catch fans!
   159. Scoriano Flitcraft Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:33 AM (#2199973)
The Kent greatest comment caused me to throw up in my mouth.

Very granular if you wanna know.
   160. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:34 AM (#2199974)
####### Drew.
   161. Richie Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:34 AM (#2199975)
Someone wake up the Rajah.

Cedeno?
   162. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:34 AM (#2199976)
Rats. Sweet swing.
   163. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:34 AM (#2199978)
"Don't think Drew's gonna get this one...I'm an idiot."
   164. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199979)
Oh, my God. I thought SURE Floyd had that out by a mile! A month ago, in the heat of summer, that's out of Shea.
   165. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199980)
How the hell did that Cliff Floyd ball not get out?

Oh Shea, you taketh away.
   166. Infinite Yost (Voxter) Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199981)
"Don't think Drew's gonna get this one!" Oops.

That must be one strong wind.
   167. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199982)
And Cliff rocks one. I clapped and thought it was gone. Holy crap, I hope he tries to get Kuo through the sixth.
   168. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199983)
Stupid camera angle made me think that was gone.
   169. Old Matt Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199984)
FOX blows.
   170. Srul Itza Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199985)
That inning was too fast and too easy on Kuo. Bad strategy.
   171. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199986)
Kuo is fortunate.
   172. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:35 AM (#2199987)
I thought that was off the Budweiser sign.
   173. Zeba Zeba Eata Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:36 AM (#2199988)
F!#*!, can't believe Cliff's didn't go.
   174. Don August(us) Cesar Geronimo Berroa Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:37 AM (#2199989)
re. Kent greatest

That's what I thought I heard. Is that Thom Brennaman?
   175. Old Matt Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:37 AM (#2199990)
THEY KEEP MISSING THE FIRST PITCH. THIS IS BULLSHIT.
   176. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:37 AM (#2199991)
"What exactly do you call that?"

A Fox Sports producer.
   177. Bob Koo Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:41 AM (#2199994)
Geez, Wright rarely gets a good jump.
   178. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:41 AM (#2199996)
DAVID WRIGHT, MOVE CLOSER TO THE LINE!!!!!
   179. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:41 AM (#2199997)
Oh, so close. Just missed on the dive . . . .
   180. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:42 AM (#2199999)
Dammit, another ball between Wright and the line. A four hopper even.
   181. Greg Maddux School of Reflexive Profanity Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:42 AM (#2200000)
Why are they even suggesting that he would bunt? What does bunting do for them, you idiots?
   182. My guest will be Jermaine Allensworth Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:42 AM (#2200001)
Is anybody arguing Kuo shouldn't be swinging away? Or are they just manufacturing debate?
   183. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:43 AM (#2200002)
OK, gotta get Furcal, Tommy. One more, baby.
   184. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:43 AM (#2200004)
Twins-A's Game 4 punted to FX? Do I still have that channel?
   185. Craggy Island Padres Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:43 AM (#2200005)
Watching the Fox broadcast is like having ADHD. Looking at the scoreboard (as is IZOD and Budwieser are paying Fox) then a random camera focused on the outfield then a crowd shot and finially looking at the plate just in time to miss the pitch and only see the follow through of a swing.
   186. Richie Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:44 AM (#2200006)
Come on Furcal, just a single will do.
   187. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:44 AM (#2200007)
I think the first pitch was a strike and the third pitch. that ump is stinking here.
   188. Bob Koo Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:44 AM (#2200008)
What's the point of carrying 7 extra hitters if you won't pinch-hit in that spot (for Kuo)? And Glavine is getting squeezed in this at-bat against Furcal.
   189. Richie Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:45 AM (#2200009)
they can't pinch-hit for Kuo because they already used Penny in relief yesterday.
   190. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200010)
By the 3-2 pitch, Glavine was happy to make him swing at ball four, or take his chances w/ Lofton. I can hardly watch here.
   191. Chris Dial Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200011)
Glavine hasn't done well throwing strikes in this inning.
   192. Urban Faber Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200012)
Splintered.
   193. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200013)
Huge. Nicely done, Tom.
   194. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200014)
smash
   195. Sam M. Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:46 AM (#2200015)
YEAH BABY!!!!
   196. Bob Koo Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:47 AM (#2200016)
Yeah Tommy! 5 innings, 5 baserunners allowed, ZERO runs.
   197. AJMcCringleberry Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:47 AM (#2200017)
Woo!

I'd like for them to get another run or two now.
   198. Rob Base Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:47 AM (#2200018)
a 4 run rally would be nice here
   199. Joshemy Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:48 AM (#2200019)
Good job Tommy!
   200. Bob Koo Posted: October 06, 2006 at 01:48 AM (#2200022)
Glavine's being smart, which I figured. Work around the guys who can really hurt you (i.e. Lofton, Martin), and go after the guys who can't (Lofton, Anderson, Drew).
