Castro starting today at catcher. Woo!
   2. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 06:21 PM (#1990419)
Reyes-Matsui batting 1-2. Joy.
   3. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 06:21 PM (#1990421)
Well, it's official. I am rooting for Victor Zambrano now. With the recent light shed on the Mets thought process (LIMA!?!) I have concluded Zambrano is our best option and should be supported whether unwillingly or not.

That is all.
   4. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 06:24 PM (#1990426)
How great is Bonds? He's got an OBP-heavy OPS of 1.000 and all people can talk about is how bad he is playing.

   7. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:36 PM (#1990625)
YES! Reyes takes a first pitch ball! YES!
   8. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:37 PM (#1990628)
Reyes walks!
   9. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:37 PM (#1990630)
Lead-off walk!
   10. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:38 PM (#1990633)
Helllloooooooooo?????????

Anybody home?
   11. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:38 PM (#1990634)
A Reyes walk? That's a nice start.
   12. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:40 PM (#1990639)
####### Reyes.
   13. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:41 PM (#1990643)
BASTID!
   14. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:41 PM (#1990646)
UGH, Reyes gets picked off. Good AB by Matsui, though.
   15. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:42 PM (#1990648)
Well, they're making Morris work. 18 pitches to the 1st 2 hitters.
   16. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:42 PM (#1990650)
8 pitch AB for Matsui. Not bad.
   17. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:43 PM (#1990654)
Delgado plunked.
   18. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:44 PM (#1990659)
Well, at least Morris threw 20 pitches in the first inning.
   19. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:44 PM (#1990660)
Ran themselves outta that inning...
   20. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:46 PM (#1990671)
Meh, those curveballs to Wright were highly driveable. I still suspect his power is lacking because of the injury.
   21. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:49 PM (#1990682)
atlanta losing again.
   22. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:53 PM (#1990698)
C'MON, BANNISTER, GODDAMMIT!
   23. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:53 PM (#1990700)
####### Alou.
   24. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:54 PM (#1990701)
Looks like fate is gonna catch up with Bannister today.
   25. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:54 PM (#1990703)
Looks like today is going to be the day where Bannister's luck runs out.
   26. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:54 PM (#1990704)
Wow that was an awful pitch. Alou should've smacked it out.
   27. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:55 PM (#1990707)
Frikken Alou...
   28. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:55 PM (#1990708)
Is this the day Bannister's ERA explodes?
   29. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:56 PM (#1990712)
How about that Kaz!
   30. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:56 PM (#1990713)
Matsui! Who needs Ipor?
   31. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:57 PM (#1990719)
Only one run. The Bannister fun continues!
   32. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:58 PM (#1990722)
One run, not bad.
   33. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 07:59 PM (#1990727)
How'd they get the last out? All Gameday will say is "undefined."
   34. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:00 PM (#1990731)
Stupid Giants, if Winn was playing center like he should be that would've been at least a double.
   35. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:00 PM (#1990734)
What did Kaz do? I had to get the phone.
   36. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990735)
Castro is so freaking sweet.
   37. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990736)
Castro needs to be the everyday catcher.
   38. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990739)
There's no question at this point in my mind that Castro is a better hitter than Lo Duca.
   39. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990741)
Castro rules.
   40. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990743)
El Cabesa Grande!
   41. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990744)
That Castro can hit. I was wrong, I am happy to admit.
   42. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:01 PM (#1990745)
Free Castro!
   43. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:02 PM (#1990748)
Castro!
   44. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:02 PM (#1990750)
They're thinking about pushing Zambrano back?!?

YES!
   45. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:03 PM (#1990753)
He walked Chavez in front of the pitcher? I don't think that was really needed Morris.
   46. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:04 PM (#1990755)
Mets should be able to hit Morris. His stuff doesn't look so hot today.
   47. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:04 PM (#1990756)
Braves lose.
   48. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:05 PM (#1990761)
Morris is really laboring today. Sooner or later they're gonna bust through on him.

I hope...
   49. The usual palaver and twaddle (Met Fan Charlie) Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:09 PM (#1990775)
Well, I'm out, folks.

See you all soon...
   50. zack Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:10 PM (#1990781)
Bannister's whole thing this far has been giving up a freakishly low number of hits. This isn't going to be pretty.
   51. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:14 PM (#1990795)
Jeez, Nady is crazy.
   52. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:14 PM (#1990797)
Geez, Nady is such a horrendous right fielder.
   53. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:14 PM (#1990800)
Can Nady ever take a normal route to a ball?
   54. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:16 PM (#1990805)
OK, 2 runs through 2 innings. Not bad. Let's get some runs.
   55. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:16 PM (#1990807)
2nd and 3rd with no outs and Bannister escapes by giving up only 1 run.
   56. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:19 PM (#1990820)
Did anyone see this? Funny stuff.
   57. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#1990822)
WATER SHOT!
   58. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#1990825)
Delgado goes splash!
   59. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#1990826)
Delgado!!

Man, if only there was someone on base... EVER
   60. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:21 PM (#1990829)
Delgado is machine. It would be awesome to get some guys on before he hits those homers.
   61. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:22 PM (#1990831)
DELGADIT!!!
   62. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:22 PM (#1990832)
Awesome little contraption to pick up the ball!
   63. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:22 PM (#1990834)
That Delgado is pretty good.
   64. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:23 PM (#1990835)
whats the record for most hrs in a season by a Met. Its in jeopardy.
   65. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:24 PM (#1990837)
   66. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:24 PM (#1990839)
Oh my God.

The Mets signed Michael Tucker.

I quit.
   67. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:25 PM (#1990841)
Man, two well-hit balls by Floyd and nothing to show for it. He keeps making good contact, he'll be fine.
   68. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:27 PM (#1990846)
Ugh why? What, Gerald Williams wasn't available this time?
   69. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:29 PM (#1990853)
Wright's lateral movement is pretty bad right now.
   70. Old Matt Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:30 PM (#1990854)
whats the record for most hrs in a season by a Met. Its in jeopardy.

I think it was Hundley's 41 in '96.
   71. Mark S is still on target Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:31 PM (#1990856)
Oh my God.

The Mets signed Michael Tucker.

I quit.

Someone needs to play the OF in AAA when Milledge is promoted.
   72. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:32 PM (#1990863)
Only one run...again.
   73. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:35 PM (#1990874)
Only one run...again.

They are adding up.
   74. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:35 PM (#1990875)
1st and 3rd with no outs and only one run again...
   75. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:35 PM (#1990877)
Why all the hate for Tucker? He's put up a .340 OBP the last two seasons and has a career .339 OBP. If he can play a decent centerfield, he's a better bench player than Chavez or Valentin isn't he?
   76. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:36 PM (#1990879)
Damn, Castro is the man.
   77. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:37 PM (#1990882)
Endy with a double!?
   78. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:37 PM (#1990884)
Ramon Castro cannot be stopped.
   79. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:38 PM (#1990886)
And that's how Endy gets extra basehits. Smoke and mirrors.
   80. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:39 PM (#1990888)
Bannister!
   81. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:39 PM (#1990889)
Bannister! What a clutch hit!
   82. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:39 PM (#1990891)
BANNISTER IS A BETTER HITTER THAN VALENTIN!!
   83. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:39 PM (#1990892)
Bannister with the double!
   84. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:40 PM (#1990893)
Brian Bannister ties the game!!!
   85. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:40 PM (#1990894)
wow. That makes up for alot.
   86. Chris in Wicker Park Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:40 PM (#1990896)
I would have given anyone good odds that Chavez and Bannister would not have gotten hits back to back. Well, that's fortunate.
   87. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:40 PM (#1990897)
And Ricky's at the game! That explains Reyes's first at bat walk!
   88. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:41 PM (#1990902)
Rickey!!!!
   89. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:42 PM (#1990904)
BANNISTER IS A BETTER HITTER THAN [name of Met other than Delgado, Wright, Floyd, Nady, Castro here].
   90. Bob Koo Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:42 PM (#1990906)
Way to get the RBIs. Now how bout a scoreless frame?
   91. Banta Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:46 PM (#1990918)
BANNISTER IS A BETTER HITTER THAN [name of Met other than Delgado, Wright, Floyd, Nady, Castro here].

This occured to me right after I made my post.
   92. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:47 PM (#1990921)
1-2-3 inning!
   93. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:48 PM (#1990927)
A 1-2-3 inning from Bannister? Now I've seen everything, except for Delgado hitting with men on base.
   94. Joshemy Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:50 PM (#1990937)
Delgado is good.
   95. AJMcCringleberry Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:51 PM (#1990939)
Delgado is awesome.

Come on David!
   96. Chris Dial Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:55 PM (#1990958)
And the Braves and Nats already got dumped. Let's go Mets!
   97. Chris Dial Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:56 PM (#1990963)
Come on, X man!
   98. Chris Dial Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:57 PM (#1990965)
Just missed it.
   99. Free Rob Base Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:57 PM (#1990966)
Looks like Nady just missed that one.
   100. Chris Dial Posted: April 26, 2006 at 08:57 PM (#1990968)
Ramon "Fidel" Castro needs a three hit game.
