Stupid bunts.
   202. Srul Itza Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:38 AM (#2055882)
Always a good idea to start an inning by walking the opposing pitcher. Running the bases will tire him out, especially an alte kacker like Glavine.
   203. Dr. Vaux Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:40 AM (#2055886)
That's actually true, in my observation. It seems that pitchers do give up runs in innings following their running the bases.
   204. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:41 AM (#2055888)
Only one run. Darn.
   205. Srul Itza Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:42 AM (#2055889)
D. Wright is an equal opportunity Double Play Machine.
   206. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:49 AM (#2055899)
This is very frustrating.
   207. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:50 AM (#2055901)
Um, this is not the Tom Glavine I have learned to love.
   208. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:50 AM (#2055902)
Ugh, come on Tommy.
   209. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:51 AM (#2055903)
Tommy is such a good fielder.

And Perez is a complete waste of space it seems.
   210. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:52 AM (#2055905)
############# Furcal.
   211. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:53 AM (#2055907)
Wow. That's completely disgusting.
   212. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:53 AM (#2055908)
You unbelievable bastard.
   213. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:53 AM (#2055909)
############# Furcal.

This 3 days rest thing was a bad idea.
   214. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:55 AM (#2055911)
Could Darren Oliver have done worse?
   215. rLr Is King Of The Romans And Above Grammar Posted: June 08, 2006 at 02:56 AM (#2055913)
Could Darren Oliver have done worse?

He's Darren Oliver. Nine runs in two innings aren't out of the question.
   216. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:04 AM (#2055920)
Ron Darling: "You don't want to lose a player like Kaz Matsui, because then you risk him saying I'm not going to play anymore"

I fail to see the problem.
   217. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:05 AM (#2055922)
That was not a very good inning.
   218. rLr Is King Of The Romans And Above Grammar Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:07 AM (#2055925)
Glavine is ruining his ERA today.
   219. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:10 AM (#2055927)
That DP is nice for Glavine.
   220. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:12 AM (#2055928)
I'm going to sleep. This is a big waste of time.
   221. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:17 AM (#2055932)
Odalis Perez can't bunt, can't pitch and can't field. That's not a good combo.
   222. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:20 AM (#2055934)
D-Wright!
   223. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:20 AM (#2055936)
Wright!
   224. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:20 AM (#2055937)
First team to 100 wins!
   225. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:25 AM (#2055938)
Jae Seo sighting.
   226. Шĥy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:27 AM (#2055941)
It would have been much more interesting for the announcers to have had that conversation with Rick Peterson when Seo was pitching.
   227. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:28 AM (#2055942)
Tommy, why the #### do you keep giving back these runs?
   228. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:28 AM (#2055943)
Ugh.
   229. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:31 AM (#2055945)
Endy is such a wonderful defender.
   230. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:37 AM (#2055950)
Jae Seo is gonna shut them down, isn't he?
   231. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:46 AM (#2055952)
Leaving Glavine in this game is a very dumb idea.
   232. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:46 AM (#2055953)
Glavine for a 6th inning? On one hand, he's only at 81 pitches. On the other, he hasn't been good tonight.
   233. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 03:59 AM (#2055960)
That outing sucked.
   234. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:06 AM (#2055965)
Nice job by Bradford.
   235. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:11 AM (#2055973)
Jimmy Rollins is definitely one of the answers to the trivia question.
   236. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:15 AM (#2055979)
Lastings!!!
   237. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:15 AM (#2055980)
Milledge!

Gonna be hard to send him down if he keeps this up.
   238. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:15 AM (#2055981)
LASTINGS MILLEDGE #######!
   239. Flynn Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:16 AM (#2055982)
That was crushed.
   240. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:16 AM (#2055983)
Tejada is the other answer.
   241. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:18 AM (#2055985)
0-2 for us AJM. Felipe Lopez and Michael Young.
   242. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:18 AM (#2055987)
Rollins didn't start one game...
   243. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:21 AM (#2055989)
I should've known Tejada would be too obvious.
   244. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:26 AM (#2055992)
Jeez. I really thought Furcal just had his third.
   245. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:27 AM (#2055993)
Yay Aaron!
   246. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:31 AM (#2055995)
They're ragging on Fernando for leaving early, ha.
   247. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:32 AM (#2055997)
And of course, because I'm obligated to say it, Matsui sucks.
   248. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:32 AM (#2055998)
And with that, Kaz Matsui is right on the Mendoza line.
   249. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:32 AM (#2055999)
Matsui needs to disappear.
   250. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:35 AM (#2056002)
And with that, Kaz Matsui is right on the Mendoza line.
Is it me or has Kaz been declining ever since he came here?
   251. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:36 AM (#2056003)
Is Nady going to get Pipped?
   252. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:38 AM (#2056005)
Lastings!!!
   253. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:38 AM (#2056006)
Milledge is probably Jesus Christ.
   254. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:38 AM (#2056007)
Silly Nomar, you don't run on Lastings Milledge!
   255. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:41 AM (#2056008)
Jesus Flores went 2-4 with another homer tonight. That's 6 in his last 48 ABs. He's gotta be the Mets best position prospect after Milledge and Fernando.
   256. Bob Koo Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:42 AM (#2056009)
Sanchez looks like crap.
   257. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:43 AM (#2056011)
And Sanchez's obscene amount of baserunners continues.
   258. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:44 AM (#2056012)
Sanchez has looked like crap for a while now.
   259. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:44 AM (#2056013)
Sanchez has been a piece of poop lately.
   260. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:44 AM (#2056014)
GET HIM OUT, WILLIE! WAGNER!!!
   261. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:46 AM (#2056015)
I liked it better when our bullpen was lights out.
   262. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:47 AM (#2056016)
Hey, he struck someone out!
   263. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:48 AM (#2056017)
Sanchez wasn't very good there but that last pitch was nasty.
   264. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:48 AM (#2056018)
Phew.
   265. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:50 AM (#2056019)
You have to wonder... is Sanchez hurt? Overworked? Same thing with Heilman. Their K rates have gone in the toilet.
   266. Rob Base Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:54 AM (#2056023)
What'd I miss?
   267. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:55 AM (#2056024)
It looked like Wright got his hand in there.
   268. Rob Base Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:57 AM (#2056026)
Looks to me like Wright is hitting .335. *faints*
   269. Dr. Vaux Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:57 AM (#2056027)
That inning virtually guarantees a Dodger comeback.
   270. Orange & Blue Velvet Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:58 AM (#2056028)
Joe Mauer is hitting .370, and he's a catcher.

So there.
   271. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 04:59 AM (#2056029)
Vaux, The Mets have Wagner. Game over.
   272. Joshemy Posted: June 08, 2006 at 05:00 AM (#2056030)
Nice work Billy! 2 out of 3!
   273. AJMcCringleberry Posted: June 08, 2006 at 05:00 AM (#2056031)
That's the game.
   274. Russlan thinks deGrom is da bomb Posted: June 08, 2006 at 05:01 AM (#2056032)
The Dodgers have some kind of lineup. If they get any pitching, they are going to win their division.
   275. Dr. Vaux Posted: June 08, 2006 at 05:09 AM (#2056033)
Well, whaddaya know?

We'll see how good the Dodger lineup is when Garciaparra and Drew take their annual trips to the DL. But maybe they won't. I think the Diamondbacks are the class of the division now that they're using the right players on both sides of the ball, but it's too bad Juan Cruz got hurt. And Dustin Nippert sucked today. I don't think any of the other teams are really good enough, though the Padres might be, and the Giants could conceivably be if Bonds heats up and Cain really clicks.
   276. Banta Posted: June 08, 2006 at 05:13 AM (#2056036)
In 129 at bats, Matsui has seven RBIs. In 26 at bats, Milledge has 8 RBIs.

I just find this quite amusing.
