Ok you piles of crap. You're worthless. You couldn't win a game against a bunch of blind grandmas.

(just getting some good hate out of the way)

I haven't seen Fenway look this empty on a friday night in a while. The weather must be awful.
   3. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:25 PM (#4123743)
Is Gonzalez ever going to hit the ball hard again?
   4. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:27 PM (#4123745)
lol orioles
   5. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:27 PM (#4123746)
Same old Orioles.

Let's capitalize here, please.
   6. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:29 PM (#4123747)
Same old Red Sox. Unable to do anything.
   7. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:36 PM (#4123751)
NESN broadcast is 300% improved by the substitution of Eckersley for Remy.
   8. Fancy Pants Handle struck out swinging Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:44 PM (#4123756)
Is it bad that I have never heard of Wei-Yin Chen before... apparently he is the Orioles best starter...
   9. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:48 PM (#4123757)
Is this team ever going to get a hit with RISP again?
   10. Fancy Pants Handle struck out swinging Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:50 PM (#4123760)
Is this team ever going to get a hit with RISP again?

I have complete faith in WMB here.
   11. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:51 PM (#4123761)
This Chen fellow appears quite wild.
   12. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:53 PM (#4123762)
Is this team ever going to get a hit with RISP again?

Apparently not.
   13. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:56 PM (#4123763)
#### you, Lester.
   14. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:57 PM (#4123764)
You couldn't have served up a more perfect home run pitch to Reynolds than that.
   15. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:12 PM (#4123775)
I can't wait to see how they squander this one.
   16. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:13 PM (#4123776)
Red Sox ineptitude with RISP v. Orioles horrible defense! Who will succumb???
   17. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:20 PM (#4123780)
Typical Orioles. They need to learn to play the last place teams as tough as the first place teams. They can't afford to drop too many series like these.
   18. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:20 PM (#4123781)
Looks like Orioles defense! Nice job, boys!
   19. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:22 PM (#4123782)
Also, why the hell is the best defensive catcher in baseball DHing the day after an off day?
   20. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:23 PM (#4123783)
Probably because tomorrow's game is a day game after a night game and tonight the Sox are throwing a LHP so it's a good opportunity to get Paulino in?
   21. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:25 PM (#4123785)
Don, I'm pretty sure Remy has something worse going on than being "still under the weather". When you miss two weeks of work you're not under the weather; there's something seriously wrong.
   22. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:28 PM (#4123788)
Sabathia was staked to a 2-0 lead in the first, and like LEster, has already given it back.
   23. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:28 PM (#4123789)
Given the pitching matchups in this series, I think you can start Wieters all three days and have him on the bench by the 4th inning in at least one blowout.
   24. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:28 PM (#4123790)
Cody Ross's defense is a goddamned disaster.
   25. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:28 PM (#4123791)
I think they said Remy has a sinus infection, but I suspect there may be something else.
   26. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:29 PM (#4123792)
Ross is killing me out there. I thought he was supposed to be good?
   27. Fancy Pants Handle struck out swinging Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:31 PM (#4123796)
I think they said Remy has a sinus infection, but I suspect there may be something else.

nly possible, buy I've had the flu for 4 days before, and then been hoarse for the next two weeks. Of course I could go back to work, but when you're an announcer, that doesn't really fly...
   28. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:32 PM (#4123798)
Wow. Lester is horrible tonight.
   29. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:33 PM (#4123800)
Is it too early to fire McClure? Because he's apparently turned every starting pitcher on this staff into steaming piles of ####.
   30. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:33 PM (#4123801)

Remy had cancer before, I think that's what ellsbury is referring to.
   31. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:37 PM (#4123804)
Remy had cancer before, I think that's what ellsbury is referring to.

Not only cancer, but he had like a crippling depression after that, apparently. Either one of those can come back and really do a number on you.
   32. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:37 PM (#4123805)
I love that "small talk" thing. I can see my son asking that same question.
   33. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:38 PM (#4123806)
Good thing we got Paulinos bat in the lineup...
   34. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:38 PM (#4123807)
Lester's talking to himself a little more than you like to see.
   35. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:43 PM (#4123809)
How did Lester go from a guy who had 225 K per season and 10+ K/9 to not even being able to get whiffs from guys like Reynolds and Chris Davis?
   36. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:51 PM (#4123813)
Is his velocity down? Doesn't seem like it to me in limited viewing, but he's been much wilder the last two times the Os have faced him.

I'm more amazed that this Red Sox lineup is second in the league in runs scored. I guess there have been some injuries? I don't see Ellsbury, Youk, or Crawford.
   37. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:02 PM (#4123819)
Ortiz doesn't seem to pick up the ball out of Chen's hand.
   38. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:05 PM (#4123821)
Looking forward to seeing how far Wieters hits the game-tying home run off of Lester.
   39. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:07 PM (#4123822)
Damn. I was just about to go for the reverse jinx. My overconfident Orioles fan schtick wasn't working.
   40. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:07 PM (#4123823)
Wow. Lester is horrible tonight.

Par for the course for our wannabe ace - he's 3/4 starter at best
   41. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:09 PM (#4123826)
How's WMB going tonight?
   42. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:10 PM (#4123827)
Jon Lester - walking guys who never walk as always - add the great Wilson Beatmit to the list
   43. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:23 PM (#4123830)
Why the #### did they have Middlebrooks 10+ feet off the line against Mark Reynolds, a dead pull hitter?
   44. Biff, highly-regarded young guy Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:25 PM (#4123832)
What are you doing Gonzalez?
   45. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:25 PM (#4123833)
Good ####### job, Gonzo. That was ####### retarded. That was not hit nearly hard enough to have a chance to do that. Now the go ahead run is on base. Nice ####### move.
   46. Phil Coorey. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:27 PM (#4123834)
This is not going to end well
   47. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:30 PM (#4123835)
Please cash in.
   48. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:32 PM (#4123836)
Ugh. That's gotta be a negative WPA play.
   49. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:34 PM (#4123838)
Whoa. rich Hill sighting. This guy I know sucks.
   50. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:35 PM (#4123840)
Hill's actually been outstanding since converting to a sidearming reliever.
   51. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:39 PM (#4123842)
If you say so. But I still hope he stays in the game.
   52. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:41 PM (#4123844)
Really thought that was going to carry to the wall. Damn.
   53. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:43 PM (#4123845)
Ball does jump off his bat. I thought that was well short of the track off his bat.
   54. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:49 PM (#4123850)
This parade of former terrible Oriole pitchers is just going to end in embarrassment, isn't it?
   55. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:52 PM (#4123852)
Davis vs Albers is not a matchup I like.
   56. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:03 PM (#4123856)
That was one hell of a defensive play.
   57. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4123866)
I hate these close divisional losses. It should feel better than a blowout but you waste all this time watching a heartbreaker.

Oh well.
   58. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:28 PM (#4123873)
Cody Ross in CF? Goodnight.
   59. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:46 PM (#4123883)
I'm surprised he didn't just let Ross take first base from the inception.
   60. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:46 PM (#4123884)
I hate Darnell.
   61. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:47 PM (#4123886)
Darnell McDonald is not the guy you want batting here.
   62. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:47 PM (#4123887)
Darnell sucks as a regular OF option. He's a good 6th outfielder, but shouldn't be playing anywhere near as much as he does play.
   63. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:48 PM (#4123888)
I suppose any offense would struggle if you removed 3 of their (theoretically) best 5 hitters.
   64. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:50 PM (#4123890)
Why does Darnell seem so much worse than his OPS+?
   65. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:51 PM (#4123892)
Aceves is dealing.
   66. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4123896)
I guess it was too much to hope for another K.
   67. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4123897)
Why does Darnell seem so much worse than his OPS+?

Because he can't hit RHP at all.
   68. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:53 PM (#4123899)
Crap.
   69. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:55 PM (#4123900)
Hey this closer guy is pretty good. What's his name?
   70. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:55 PM (#4123901)
Nice recovery. Struck out the side two innings in a row.
   71. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:58 PM (#4123903)
Have patience, ############.
   72. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:58 PM (#4123904)
Why the #### is Salty hitting against Shoppach vs a lefty?
   73. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:59 PM (#4123905)
The bullpen has been better lately, but still hate getting into bullpen wars with this team.
   74. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:00 PM (#4123906)
Why waste Salty here? Why not leave Shoppach in?
   75. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:01 PM (#4123907)
Of all the times to PH for Shoppach with Salty, you choose an AB against a lefty specialist?
   76. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:02 PM (#4123908)
Inept.
   77. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:02 PM (#4123909)
Aceves again? He's pitching well, but this is starting to push it.
   78. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:03 PM (#4123910)
There's just too many easy outs on this team right now.
   79. DKDC Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:03 PM (#4123911)
The bullpen has been better lately, but still hate getting into bullpen wars with this team.

Don't worry, you're almost to Kevin Gregg.
   80. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:03 PM (#4123912)
By going 0-2 to start tonight's game, Albert Pujols dropped below the Mendoza line to .198.
   81. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:07 PM (#4123913)
Well, Aceves could use a strikeout here.
   82. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:10 PM (#4123915)
Now the pitching change? Valentine is a weird dude.
   83. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:12 PM (#4123917)
Aceves was something of a swingman last year, so it's not like he's a one-inning guy or anything.
   84. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:14 PM (#4123918)
Next inning looks promising with the good part of the lineup due up.
   85. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:15 PM (#4123919)
OK, offense, let's put this one away!
   86. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:18 PM (#4123922)
C'mon AG. Let's do this.
   87. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:19 PM (#4123924)
A-Gon is seriously freakin' due.
   88. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:20 PM (#4123926)
Alright, a baserunner.
   89. ellsbury my heart at wounded knee Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:21 PM (#4123927)
This Red Sox bench never seems to have the kind of player you need on it.
   90. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:22 PM (#4123928)
This Red Sox bench never seems to have the kind of player you need on it.

Especially not with so many bench players in the lineup. But these are the featured players in this inning, so if they come up short again it's on them.
   91. The Piehole of David Wells Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:23 PM (#4123929)
That's the Red Sox former catcher exposito!
   92. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:25 PM (#4123930)
Ugh...I really need to go to sleep, so of course this game's going to 13 now. With the crap part of the Sox lineup due up in the bottom of the inning.
   93. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:26 PM (#4123932)
OK, I mostly meant McDonald as crap. Well, I suppose they're going to leave this lefty in as long as they can and that would render Sweeney kinda useless too.
   94. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:29 PM (#4123933)
Pujols is now hitting .196
   95. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:30 PM (#4123935)
If the lefty stays in it makes McDonald useful though.
   96. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:31 PM (#4123936)
I guess that's where the missing Youkilis really hurts. Not enough guys on this team who hit lefties.
   97. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:33 PM (#4123937)
Uhh, they have McDonald, Ross, Shoppach, Pedroia, Aviles who all destroy LHP. Losing Youkilis hurts simply because he's a middle of the order bat who can hit both LH and RH pitching. All of the role players have extreme splits.
   98. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:35 PM (#4123938)
I mean even with a fully healthy roster this team had a platoon at RF and C, and probably should have planned on one in LF if not for salaries. So you've got Crawford/McDonald, Sweeney/Ross, and Salty/Shoppach all as pairs of platoon players who can't hit same-handed pitching at all.
   99. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:36 PM (#4123939)
Neither Shoppach nor McDonald destroy anyone.
   100. Answer Guy. Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:36 PM (#4123940)
When you're in a slump, long at bats never seem to end well.
