And another catcher goes down. I really hate complaining about injuries, but this is just absolutely f*cking ridiculous now.

Man, Ian Desmond is really putting together a promising season this year.
   3. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:16 PM (#4131470)
Except for that awful steal attempt, that is.
   4. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:23 PM (#4131479)
It's sure nice to see the bats finally starting to come alive a little.

Thank goodness Henry Rodriguez isn't available to "close" the game tonight, because he simply isn't cut out for the job, no matter how hard he can throw. I'd rather have Clippard out there any day.
   6. Dan Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:48 PM (#4131503)
If he's not available, why is he warming now?
   7. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:50 PM (#4131511)
Chad Tracy, secret bench-warming destroyer.

DON'T BRING IN RODRIGUEZ, DAVEY. SEAN BURNETT IS AVAILABLE FOR F**K'S SAKE.
   8. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:52 PM (#4131516)
I would be far more comfortable with Rick Ankiel on the mound instead of Henry Rodriguez after last night.
   9. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:53 PM (#4131517)
Oh wow, Xavier Nady finally did something worthwhile!

Is this game Rodriguez-proof yet, even with a punchless team like the Padres?

MAGIC 8-BALL SAYS: "YOU'RE BETTER OFF WITH ANKIEL."
   10. Dan Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:53 PM (#4131518)
At least it's a two run lead now.
   11. Dan Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:53 PM (#4131520)
Make that a three run lead.
   12. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4131522)
I can't believe Davey could even possibly be seriously considering bringing him in a third night in a row after that debacle last night.
   13. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4131526)
I am presently Aroldis Chapman's biggest fan. HOLD THE LINE, SCARY REDS FIREBALLER!
   14. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:56 PM (#4131527)
If the Braves come back to steal this game away from the Reds, I will believe that we are truly cursed by the Baseball Gods.

What kind of just and merciful God would want to see Sam Hutcheson happy?
   15. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:57 PM (#4131528)
Ugh. Chapman loads the bases for Jason Heyward in Atlanta...two out.
   16. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4131530)
Oh my God. This is another disaster waiting to happen.
   17. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4131531)
YANK RODRIGUEZ NOW.

It must be psychological, but he has forgotten where the zone is.
   18. Dan Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4131532)
Henry Blass?
   19. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4131534)
Get him out of here.

Get him out of here now.

I cannot tolerate this bullsh*t anymore. Sean Burnett can f**king close.
   20. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:00 PM (#4131535)
I mean, can't he even just throw strikes and let the punchless Padres get themselves out?
   21. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4131537)
I will break something if Rodriguez walks this guy.
   22. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:03 PM (#4131539)
There it is: I broke my heart.
   23. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4131542)
THROW STRIKES. THROW F**KING STRIKES. IT DOESN'T MATTER JUST THROW A F**KING STRIKE!!!!!
   24. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:05 PM (#4131546)
Why can I already predict that Rodriguez will blame the wet damp mound? NEWSFLASH: SOMETIMES PITCHING CONDITIONS ARE LESS THAN OPTIMAL. THROW F**KING STRIKES.
   25. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:06 PM (#4131549)
Suddenly, I don't think we will win this game.
   26. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4131550)
Hey, fancy that: Sean Burnett coming in to pitch the ninth.

Except we let Henry F**king Rodriguez LOAD THE BASES ON THREE STRAIGHT WALKS first.
   27. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4131553)
Rodriguez, you're a worthless, pineapple-faced turd. I don't know who I hate more right now, you, or Davey for risking this game in a futile attempt to bolster your confidence.
   28. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4131565)
Wow, did we dodge a major bullet right there.
   29. Dan Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:15 PM (#4131569)
So is that the official end of Rodriguez as closer?
   30. Esoteric Posted: May 14, 2012 at 10:24 PM (#4131576)
We can only hope.

Thank god we pulled out the win. Back in first place!
   31. TerpNats Posted: May 14, 2012 at 11:09 PM (#4131593)
Bryce Harper hits his first MLB home run, and it's mentioned on none of the 30 comments on a Nationals game thread. Hard to believe, Harry, hard to believe.
