I'm finding it strangely difficult to get myself pumped up to face an aging fourth-place team on the downslide, but I'll try.
   2. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:05 PM (#4123718)
Kendrick as the matchup against Strasburg probably doesn't help you on that front.

We've the world famous "---" umpiring at second base tonight. Believe it or not, he's one of the better umpires in the game today.
   4. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:15 PM (#4123727)
Joe West a late scratch — who nobbled him?
   5. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:16 PM (#4123728)
Apparently West is ill. I leave it to you chaps, or Oswald Spengler, to make a diagnosis.
   6. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:17 PM (#4123732)
Also, my GameDay Audio window is not showing the summary of plays. And I couldn't post into a thread earlier.
   7. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:18 PM (#4123734)
Oh, I fixed the GameDay Audio issue. Just closed and reopened the summary pop-up window.
   8. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:18 PM (#4123735)
I'll be disappointed if Harper doesn't hit his first HR off of Kendrick tonight.
   9. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:19 PM (#4123736)
Was it the WAR thread? I couldn't post there either.
   10. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:19 PM (#4123737)
Charlie Manuel ejected in the first inning!
   11. JH (in DC) Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:23 PM (#4123739)
To steal from our friend Gelb on Twitter, Manuel has a bad Natitude.
   12. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:23 PM (#4123740)
Was it the WAR thread?

Yes. I'm going to investigate.
   13. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:24 PM (#4123741)
Do you think Davey Johnson and Charlie Manuel play shuffleboard on their off-days, or do they prefer contract bridge?
   14. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:31 PM (#4123748)
I e-mailed the Jim about it. I wonder if it's because it has '.com' as part of the URL?
   15. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:32 PM (#4123749)
Manuel and Johnson should take up lawn bowls, like Sir Francis Drake.
   16. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:42 PM (#4123753)
If someone had told me weeks ago that Espinosa would hit like Pujols for the first month of the season, I would have been ecstatic.
   17. Dan Posted: May 04, 2012 at 07:59 PM (#4123765)
Knedrick wants no part of Harper.
   18. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:02 PM (#4123766)
Strasburg may pitch like Walter Johnson, but he runs like two Molinas in a three-legged race.
   19. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:11 PM (#4123773)
Oh dear.
   20. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:15 PM (#4123777)
Nice Chad!
   21. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:15 PM (#4123778)
Chad Tracy!!!
   22. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:27 PM (#4123786)
Something *is* wrong with the GameDay Audio. One of the Phillies' radio announcers was just complaining he couldn't get his At Bat 12 to work. Summary has stopped working, too.
   23. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:30 PM (#4123793)
Strasburg is missing something tonight, and it isn't the bats.
   24. Mr Dashwood Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:34 PM (#4123802)
Some bug flew in to where the Phillies radio chaps are speaking, prompting the witty aside 'I think that's (g)Natitude.'

Well done, sir.
   25. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:35 PM (#4123803)
Both guys are actually getting hit kind of hard tonight, but the Nats are scorching them right at people.
   26. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:00 PM (#4123817)
I swear, it seems like the Nats have about half a dozen balls that have just missed being home runs by a foot or two in the last three or four days.
   27. JH (in DC) Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:20 PM (#4123829)
Joe West having an effect even when he's not at the game.
   28. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:46 PM (#4123847)
Hey Davey, if you're not going to let Espinosa hit in that situation, you need to move him lower in the batting order. You're not doing anything at all to help the poor guy's confidence.
   29. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:47 PM (#4123848)
Jesus is my catcher!!
   30. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 09:49 PM (#4123849)
Whoa, they're intentionally walking Nada? That's one of the most bizarre decisions I've ever seen in my life.
   31. JH (in DC) Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4123859)
Mackanin is having a helluva game. Saving his closer, and double switching out his catcher.
   32. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:12 PM (#4123862)
Man, I was SURE that ball was gone right there.
   33. The Yankee Clapper Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4123894)
Seems like a pro-Nationals crowd!
   34. Joey B. is counting the days to Trea Turner Posted: May 04, 2012 at 10:52 PM (#4123898)
Is that a submarine I hear pulling into dock at the Navy Yard? No my friends, it's just another walkoff, first-place Curly W being hung in the books!!!
   35. TerpNats Posted: May 04, 2012 at 11:15 PM (#4123920)
Remarkable game, and if you're a Nationals fan, you hope the emotion carries over into the next afternoon...just as it did for the Dodgers last Saturday and Sunday.
