Think I'm going to head to this one tonight.

Something screwy has been going on with stubhub the past couple weeks. Bleacher tickets keep disappearing, leaving 0 tickets the morning of(compared to 700-800 the day before), and when they start appearing, they're 2-3 times as much as they were listed for yesterday. I don't know if it's an ambitious broker or the team, but it's definitely something screwy. (Though still legal)

Garza does one thing well, and that's pitch. He's horrible fielding his position and is extremely poor at the plate even by pitcher standards.

Now, I get that that's his job - I'm not advocating that they trade him because he can't field or advancing some self-righteous Rosenbloomian HE MUST GET BETTER angle. It's just irritating, is all.

Anyone else notice that DeJesus recently crossed the 100 OPS+ threshold?

The Phillies announcers suck. I hate living outside of Philly.

When he hit the pinch hit grand slam he leaped over the 100 OPS+ mark.

So does the ROE count as reaching base safely?

Hmmm, maybe Soriano is finally heating up.
   8. McCoy Posted: May 16, 2012 at 09:32 PM (#4133511)
Soriano is getting hot!!!

Just got home and saw the video of Pierre's error. You almost never see a major league OF just drop a routine fly ball like that. Hell, you almost never see a high school OF drop a ball that they're camped out under like that.

How's Garza looked tonight? The box score gives the impression that he's been battling.

Garza has been scuffling but managed to keep the Cubs in the game. He is up to 97 pitches though.

Robbie Gould might be the only guest conductor all year who knows the words to TMOTTB, i.e., "take me out WITH the crowd" and "I don't care if I NEVER get back." So apparently he also cares about accuracy in pursuits other than kicking.

Crap.

Two damn fine at bats in this inning. Nothing to show for it, unfortunately.

Maine is not exactly making me miss Castillo.
   15. McCoy Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:05 PM (#4133632)
This whole bullpen is not exactly making me miss Hawkins and Alfonseca.

Holy ####, it's Hector Luna.
   17. Brian C Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:11 PM (#4133635)
Good lord.
   18. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:11 PM (#4133636)
Well who didn't see that coming? Good god.
   19. McCoy Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:11 PM (#4133637)
Well, this game is going to kill their pitching and defensive numbers.
   20. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:13 PM (#4133639)
Oh well. Cubs were getting too close to .500. They needed to #### the bed a couple of times to ground everyone.
   21. McCoy Posted: May 16, 2012 at 11:16 PM (#4133640)
Time to start breaking up this team. Dempster to the Orioles. Garza to the Tigers. And, well, I don't think there is really much else on the Cubs that they can move.

Seems rather silly and pedantic to not count the ROE.
