Anybody chatting today? We're almost a third of the way into the season and the Mets haven't looked horrible yet. I think it's time to amp the excitement level from 2 to about 4. Maybe 5.

I was hoping too, but my "regional coverage" on MLBN gave me Braves-Cards, not Mets-Phils

I think that the Mets owe a lot of their success thus far this year to Santana. Any offseason projection could not have anticipated this level of return. He's pitched better than his ERA and his ERA+ is right where he was before he got hurt. Without him, the starting rotation could be horrifying right now, instead of bordering on respectable.

What is the plan for the fifth starter going forward? Waiting on Chris Young? Mejia?

Come on guys, it's just Memorial Day, you don't gotta play like you're dead.
   5. Banta Posted: May 28, 2012 at 01:23 PM (#4141654)
Thank god. I hate getting to sit down to watch a game and have it be 4-0 in the first inning.

Ah, Niese. You seem like you could be good, but I'm starting to think you just suck.

I think the plan is Young, but they'd better have a backup plan for that backup backup plan.

Nice play all around, guys.
   9. Adam Starblind Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:04 PM (#4141676)
Will be very interesting to see who plays where. David to SS? Who plays 3B?
   10. Adam Starblind Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:05 PM (#4141679)
Hairston played an inning of 2B last year - Murphy to 3b, Wright to SS?
   11. Adam Starblind Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:06 PM (#4141680)
Rottino to 3B, Wright to SS - interesting.
   12. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:07 PM (#4141682)
Wacky.
   13. manchestermets Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:08 PM (#4141683)
Assuming they need someone, who's likely to get called up to play SS?
   14. Adam Starblind Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:30 PM (#4141690)
Haven't heard Josh Rodriguez mentioned, but he's a reasonable-seeming option.
   15. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:30 PM (#4141691)
WOOHOO!

I'm liking this oldster Rottino.
   16. Adam Starblind Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:31 PM (#4141692)
Hey Vinn-ay!
   17. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 02:44 PM (#4141699)
Not a good idea apparently, Collins.
   18. Banta Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:00 PM (#4141707)
Scott Hairston.
   19. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:01 PM (#4141708)
Wow, we are really get the most out of our nobodies, a magic year perhaps?
   20. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:02 PM (#4141710)
It makes me a little sad that we have no one better than Hefner to start tomorrow's game.
   21. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:16 PM (#4141714)
THis game has been ####### maddening.
   22. Banta Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:17 PM (#4141715)
If Parnell can get out with only one run, I'm feeling bullish on the Mets chances.
   23. Banta Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:20 PM (#4141717)
Why are strippers singing God Bless America?
   24. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:25 PM (#4141720)
Why are strippers singing God Bless America?

I only caught the end of that and was a little taken aback myself.
   25. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:37 PM (#4141727)
NO NO NO NO YES!
   26. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:44 PM (#4141730)
That was a painful inning.
   27. Lassus Posted: May 28, 2012 at 03:54 PM (#4141734)
OK, well, that's gotta be about enough for Acosta.
