Buchholz looks good again. He hasn't skipped a beat, despite the DL stint.

No first inning runs! The streak is broken!
   3. Dan Posted: July 19, 2012 at 07:38 PM (#4187527)
Gonzalez still refuses to walk.
   4. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 07:57 PM (#4187542)
XBH action from the DH.

Red Sox SS in 2 years: Iglesias or Ciriaco... Which is more likely?

This is more than likely totally wrong, but maybe not having a muscular injury might have really refreshed him...

God bless him, he looks slightly inbred.

Trick question, neither will be.

You gotta be ####### joking.
   10. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:10 PM (#4187600)
Well that's some poor BIP luck.

Middlebrooks is a GIDP machine.
   12. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:13 PM (#4187604)
Except he hit a LD, not a G.
   13. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:43 PM (#4187619)
Great 2-strike pitching by Aceves to Beckham. Instead of making him swing at something down and out of the strike zone, keep pumping stuff up in the zone at him, where he can get it in the air to the opposite field!
   14. Darren Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:44 PM (#4187622)
How can he look so unhittable and get so hit?
   15. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:47 PM (#4187626)
Gotta steal this base, Carl.
   16. Darren Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4187630)
I'm torn. You got a lefty out there who's holding him well. I might see what Pedroia can do here.
   17. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:51 PM (#4187631)
I told you to steal, Carl, not do nothing and get forced out at second.
   18. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:53 PM (#4187632)
Gonzalez now 1-8 lifetime against Thornton.
   19. dirk Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:54 PM (#4187633)
ross ends this here. with a walk off, I mean.
   20. Darren Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:55 PM (#4187635)
We are pretty conservative on the bases, it seems.
   21. dirk Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4187638)
no point in making an out at 3rd. not going to win without another hit this inning anyway.
   22. Darren Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:58 PM (#4187639)
Yeah dirk!
   23. dirk Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4187640)
how bout that!!
   24. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 09:59 PM (#4187641)
The man is hot. Very, very hot.
   25. Dan Posted: July 19, 2012 at 10:00 PM (#4187642)
Ross just might save this season. I thought he was a great signing to upgrade on McDonald for the short side of a RF platoon, but I really didn't see him being this productive after being pushed into fulltime play.
   26. dirk Posted: July 19, 2012 at 10:02 PM (#4187643)
ross is fantastic. he's got a flair for the dramatic and seems like a great dude. i love rooting for him.

Man did I get home at the right time. Only saw the bottom of the ninth.
   30. Chip Posted: July 19, 2012 at 10:04 PM (#4187648)
He's hitting righties slightly better than his career averages, but that was still pretty unexpected.
   31. Tim Dawson Posted: July 19, 2012 at 10:19 PM (#4187655)
Cody Ross's numbers with 2 or more on this year:

17-39, 4 2B, 5 HR .436/.444/.923
   32. Tim Dawson Posted: July 19, 2012 at 10:31 PM (#4187663)
And for his career with runners at 1st and 2nd, he's .320/.356/.601 (against a .262/.325/.465 baseline)

This year he's hit well with runners at 2nd and 3rd, but over his career he's really struggled when first base was empty.
