Hall of Merit — A Look at Baseball's All-Time Best Monday, February 20, 20061970 Results: The Hall of Merit Welcomes ‘50s Stars Snider and Wynn!In his first year on the ballot, Dodger great Duke Snider received 95% of all possible points to be awarded a spot in the Hall of Merit. In only his second year of eligibility, 300—game winner Early Wynn became the second inductee selected by the electorate this election by amassing 49% of all possible points. Rounding out the top-ten were: Clark Griffith, Biz Mackey, Cool Papa Bell, George Van Haltren, Bobby Doerr, George Sisler, Cannonball Dick Redding, and Joe Gordon (his first appearnce on this list!) .
