Congratulations are in order for Snider and Wynn!

Nice to see Gordon make the top-ten, while Griffith may finally enter the portals of the HoM next "year."

It looks as if Minoso and Pierce have been backlogged but not out of existence. I fully expect Minoso to see a bump next year as everyone digests the new MLE's. If you haven't look at them you should, they could raise him onto a few more ballots (though I am not sure how much it effects my rating of him).

All-time 'vote points totals' leaders, through 1970. Active for 1971 vote in CAPS

Pierce is 6th among pitchers, but he might be 4th with that extra vote from the guy with the next system. That's why I had hoped to see a revise in time for this list. Ah well.

Sorry, DL - so Pierce was 7th among pitchers until you moved him up to 6th!

I am best friend of no one (Snider doesn't count) - interesting.

I've got 6 best buddies (7 if you include Snider).
But I'm not in the bottom 7 on Consensus scores?
Eccentric but not outrageous...

Real voting: Duke Snider 51 17.00%

Wow, that's right - the voters didn't really need the Duke in the early going. I forgot that it took him a long time to get elected. Like 10 years. How could Johnny Vander Meer get more votes! That's insane.
   18. Dr. Chaleeko Posted: February 23, 2006 at 02:49 PM (#1872368)
Did Duke Snider ever throw two no-hitters in a row???????

I thought not!

Elsewhere I observed that the top ten incumbents include five pre- and Negro Leagues candidates, two 19ers, Sisler, Doerr and Gordon. Let me extend that.

The top 15 incumbents include six pre-/Negro Leagues, five 19th century, and four more.

The top 25 incumbents include eight pre-/Negro Leagues, eight 19th century, and nine others.
The others in voting results order:
Doerr, Sisler, Gordon, Kiner, Sewell, Minoso, Waddell, Walters, Pierce

chronologically:
Waddell, Sisler, Sewell, Walters, Doerr, Gordon, Kiner, Minoso, Pierce
