Fantasy Owner Needed

Hey guys, I need an owner for an NL only fantasy team.

Basic league structure: 14 teams, keeper, sabermetric stats, auction style, with long-term extensions and deep farm systems. $263 auction cap, 24 players.

Batting stats:

adjOBP (basically OBP with CS subracted from the numerator) - replaces AVG.
Bases Produced (TB + SB) - replaces HR, why not give credit for 2B and 3B too, puts SB in proper perspective.
Runs Scored - replaces SB, for obvious reasons.
RBI - no change.

Pitching stats:

ERA - no change
Strikeouts - replace wins
adjOPS against (basically OBP against * 2, plus SLG against) - replaces WHIP, why not penalize pitchers who give up HR more than those that give up singles.

1/2 categories (replace saves)
Quality Starts
Relief Points (2*SV + H + relW - BS - relL) - These two categories, put closers and middle relievers in their proper perspective. A great closer is worth $15-20, not $40. And since we use holds, you can do a bullpen by committee.

In the 1/2 categories, you get 7 points for 1st, 6.5 for 2nd, etc..

Basically you’d take over a decent roster, the farm system is gutted, but the return roster includes (year is year contract expires, not guaranteed unless noted):

Adam LaRoche $23 2007
Miguel Cabrera $9 2006 (can be extended to something like $24 a year through 2009)
John F. Mabry $1 2007
Cliff Floyd $17 2007
Ryan Klesko $17 2007
Jim Edmonds $36 2006
Larry Walker $27 2007
Chris Capuano $1 2006
Joey Eischen $1 2006
Eric Gagne $27 2006
Mark Prior $24 2008G
Duaner Sanchez $1 2007
Brandon Webb $15 2006G
Kerry Wood $35 2007

Because of the deep farm systems (5 round draft, we usually get down to high A ball) and cheap contracts we give those players ($1 first year, then $3, $5, $9 in subsequent years), guys aquired in the auction have some inflation over the prices you seen in a typical roto magazine. Carlos Beltran went for $56 last year, Todd Helton $55, as examples.

Our Rule 5 Draft is next week, so if you want to join soon, you could participate, it’s via email. If not, I’ll be picking for the team.

The one stipulation is that we want an owner that can be at the Draft, in Harrisburg, PA, Sunday, April 2. We have owners from Connecticut to Pittsburgh to New Jersey to West Virginia’s panhandle and just about everywhere inbetween, so I’m sure you could hitch a ride with someone if you live in the general area and don’t want drive long-distance.

We’ve already assimilated one primate over the last few years and it worked out well. The league is going into it’s 10th season, and I’m the commissioner.

Feel free to ask any questions, contact me ASAP if you are interested in taking over. Thanks!

Still looking, someone has to be interested - heck the ownerless team just added a $1 Julio Franco in our version of the Rule 5 Draft!

Hey guys it's another year and we have another opening . . . this team is different, it's a rebuild for sure, but there are some decent players in the organization. We are drafting 3/31 in Harrisburg, PA, but a conference call will be set up if you absolutely cannot make the draft.

Rules are the same as above, here are the significant players on the roster (no one has to be kept you can cut anyone you don't like):

Miguel Olivo, $1 2008
Matt Treanor, $1 2008
Prince Fielder, $5 2008F (Farm contract, will be $9 in 2008)
Craig Biggio $20 2007
Pedro Feliz, $20 2007
Alfredo Amezaga, $1 2008
Tony Clark, $1 2007
Steve Finley, $5 2008
Jason Repko, $1 2008
Moises Alou, $20 2007
Cody Ross, $10 2008
Corey Hart, $5 2008F
Angel Guzman, $3 2009F
Rick Helling, $1 2008
John Maine, $10 2008
Brandon Medders, $5 2008
Wandy Rodriguez, $1 2008
Alay Soler, $3 2009F
Brad Thompson, $3 2008
Mike Thompson, $10 2008
Matt Wise, $1 2008

Kevin Frandsen
Marcus Sanders
Ryan Braun
Elvis Andrus
Ambiorix Concepcion
Greg Golson
Andrew McCutchen
James Jurries
Brian Bogusevic
Cesar Carillo
Nick Ungs

It's a complete rebuild, but there are useful parts in the farm system, and you'll have a ton of money for the auction. Please let me know ASAP if you have interest.
