Hall of Merit — A Look at Baseball's All-Time Best Monday, January 05, 2015Mock 2015 Hall of Fame Ballot - ResultsBBTF would elect seven this year if given the chance. Based on last year’s referendum results every returning player down to Sosa would already be inducted. We should probably re-do the referendum with Smoltz, Sheffield, Giles, Delgado and everyone who was between 75% and 5% last year. 9.93 votes per ballot.
The overall yes-or-no results are the same in either case, though.
EDIT: Heh. I do show 97.6% for Piazza and 75.9% for Raines.
For the second year in a row Mike Piazza leads the vote-getters. Being one of the five best catchers in MLB history apparently counts for more around these parts.
ETA: Also, is Mike Emeigh the only person who submitted a ballot with fewer than 10 names?
That's why many BBWAA members are glad we haven't been given the chance! Don't want too many people on the stage at the induction ceremonies, do we?
