Based on the referendum results and previous ballots BBTF has already recommended the following be inducted:

Jeff Bagwell
Barry Bonds
Roger Clemens
Edgar Martinez
Mark McGwire
Mike Mussina
Mike Piazza
Tim Raines
Curt Schilling
Sammy Sosa
Alan Trammell
Larry Walker

That means Griffey is the only "new" player. I am curious to see how Edmonds would do on an empty ballot.

I would fully 100% support that result if it happened.

I think he goes in on an empty ballot, but it would be interesting to see what he would do on a ballot with only 7 clear hofers on it, instead of this ballot.

Interesting that Trammell, widely viewed as a slam-dunk case on BTF (with far more support than in the BBWAA), only gets to 80 percent here. Just shows how horribly hard it is to get to 75% when the ballot is so stacked.

Seven electees! Yay consensus!

Poor Jeff Kent, though.

A majority here support Jeff Kent as seen in the referendum results but he can't get above 4% support on this ballot.

My ballot exactly. Looks like I need to change my handle to reflect my status as the prototypical BBTF poster.

My ballot was basically the first 10, so either I'm part of, or I'm result of the groupthink... hmmm... yea kent Hoffman and Wagner seem to be the big losers here. I doubt any of them get in if the ballot is not so stacked, but they would have cleared the 5%.

Good to see even BBTF can't unanimously elect anyone either.

That's astounding that we were able to get 9 players to 75% with a 10-man ballot limit. That's a scary level of consensus!

It would be interesting to see what would happen if you dropped everybody in #1 from the ballot. Griffey would obviously sail in - probably unanimously (I assume his one omission here was a strategic omission from a full ballot) - but I'd be curious to see what peoples' opinions really are of Jim Edmonds, Jeff Kent, Trevor Hoffman, Gary Sheffield, and others, with no excuses for NOT voting for them other than "I don't think he's a Hall-of-Famer".

I had McGwire and Sosa but omitted Mussina; otherwise, as the results.

I'm a little more appreciative of peak achievement than some others in this ballot, but McGwire and Sosa are OK per the referendum, I see, and I probably would have gone to Mussina as the eleventh on my own ballot. I don't know if it's groupthink; I just think there's still a ton of overqualified guys active on the ballot.

That is why on my ballot I listed who I voted for, who I would vote for if given a chance, and who I would be more interested in having a prolonged discussion about, Kent and Edmonds make that last group. I'm one of Jim Edmonds biggest fans(he's 1 month 8 days older than me...yes I'm a geek) but I need someone to convince me that my opinion is right or wrong. I think he's a clear hall of meriter, but hof is a different story, and I think his relative lack of career hurts him.

That is one of the side effect good things about the system that the hof has set up, is that consensus is hard, but it also means that the low percentage guys are often given a second look(except the Whitakers, Simmons or Browns)

Crap. I'll fix the tally later. Not sure who I missed.
   15. pikepredator Posted: December 24, 2015 at 08:32 AM (#5119681)
It would definitely be a much more interesting election if we remove all those sure-fire HOFers. It would make me take a good long look at guys like Edgar, Kent, Sheffield, Edmonds . . .
   16. Rusty Priske Posted: December 24, 2015 at 08:57 AM (#5119692)
Who didn't vote for Griffey?

My 10 were 10 of the top 11 (I continue to down-vote Piazza... I also recognize what sort of minority that puts me in)
   17. DL from MN Posted: December 24, 2015 at 09:52 AM (#5119725)
There was a full ballot without Griffey
   18. Rusty Priske Posted: December 24, 2015 at 10:23 AM (#5119745)
Yeah I have seen it now. Sounds like a 'strategic' voting thing.
   19. alilisd Posted: December 24, 2015 at 10:36 AM (#5119755)
Kiko, I would vote for Edmonds, Kent, and Sheffield. Much as it pains me to say it, I would not vote for Hoffman.
   20. Rally Posted: December 29, 2015 at 04:28 PM (#5121939)
There's more groupthink here than in the real voting group, which means Trammell and Mussina get in while Kent and McGriff support drops. But if you could convince voters to fill out their full 10 spots you might see a strong class like this put 6-7 guys in.
   21. DL from MN Posted: January 13, 2016 at 04:54 PM (#5133449)
I only have 72 ballots counted
   22. DL from MN Posted: January 13, 2016 at 05:01 PM (#5133466)
Found Meatwad, danb and McDowell - now I have 75
