Last historical MMP vote. It will just become a yearly vote like the HoM from now on. Not sure if there is any interest in doing anything else. I don't feel like tackling managers or executives.

1900 Prelim
1) Honus Wagner - clear #1
2) Elmer Flick - best bat
3) Napoleon Lajoie
4) John McGraw
5) Billy Hamilton
6) Kip Selbach
7) Noodles Hahn - contraction dramatically raised the talent level for pitchers, moreso than for position players.
8) Cy Young
9) Grant Johnson - I have him ranked as the best SS this season. Wagner was still not playing SS full time
10) Willie Keeler

11-15) Jake Beckley, Bill Dahlen, George Davis, Jesse Burkett, Clark Griffith
16-20) Jimmy Collins, Joe Kelley, Bill Dinneen, Jesse Tannehill, Win Mercer

I still haven't figured out how to rate Luis Padron. He's clearly worth consideration but I haven't found MLE projections.

Shout out to Ed Scott, who must have an interesting story and had a pretty solid season in 1900.

Luis went 13-4 for the Havana Reds in 1900 and led the Cuban Winter League in wins, winning percentage, complete games (17), hits (31) and homers (1, tied for the lead), batting .313 and slugging .394. He was second in the league in average and led in slugging as a fine two-way threat.

In July of 1909, the Cuban Stars brought Luis to the US and the 1909 White Sox gave him a try-out. The Washington Post reported that he signed with Chicago and the Chicago Tribune reports he did well in his try-out as an outfielder for the club, needing some help there. A Cuban paper predicted his success in the majors. He never did appear in Chicago there and some cite racism as the reason. Instead, Luis spent the summer with the Cuban Stars.

BTW - thanks to everyone who participated in this 11 year project along the way. I've learned a lot about players I'd never heard of before going through year-by-year. I have enjoyed the discussions. I will be visiting the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in Kansas City this summer and I have a visit to Cooperstown on my list of things to do after the kids move out.

I think Padron works out right around the 20-25 range for me but I'm rating starting pitchers fairly low this season.
