Lajoie, Wagner, McGinnity, Cy Young and Noodles Hahn have appeared on every MMP ballot this decade.

3 - Rube Waddell, Rube Foster, Christy Mathewson, Bill Bradley, Jimmy Collins

Napoleon Lajoie is now the earliest position player to win the MMP, breaking a string of three straight pitchers to win the award. At the same time, this is Lajoie's fourth straight year being named the AL position player MMP, breaking a tie with Mike Trout (2012-'14) and leaving him one behind Mantle's record (5 straight from '55 to '59).

Jack Chesbro is the pitching MMP. Chesbro is only the 2nd member of the Highlander/Yankee organization to win the award, joining Ron Guidry ('78). However, Chesbro couldn't match Guidry's feat of being named the overall MMP.

Honus Wagner has won his second NL MMP, adding the 1904 crown to one he won for 1902. Wagner is also the NL position player MMP for the 3rd straight year, tying the record held jointly by Willie Mays ('64-'66) and Mike Schmidt ('79-'81).

Joe McGinnity is your NL pitching MMP. This is the second straight win for the New York Giants, following Christy Mathewson's victory last year. Sam Jones ('59) is the only other Giant to win this award so far.

The turnout lately is pretty disappointing. We have had close elections. I hope the issues with posting haven't been the root cause.

DL - My issues with posting went away, pretty much, when I found out that I was in need of a software update whose notice I had managed to not see. That also means you can probably forget yesterday's email I sent to you. - Brock
