Pete Alexander breaks a streak of six straight AL MMPs, taking home the award on behalf of the NL for the first time since Honus Wagner won in 1908. Alexander also ends Walter Johnson's run as the pitching MMP at three years, becoming the first NL pitcher to take home the award since Christy Mathewson split a victory with Ed Walsh in 1909.

Ty Cobb is back on top, winning his fifth AL MMP. Cobb previously won in 1907, '09, '10 and '11. With this win, Cobb ties Alex Rodriguez and Mike Trout for third place, trailing only Ted Williams and Mickey Mantle (7 each).

Walter Johnson may have lost out on the big awards but he keeps his streak alive as the AL's pitching MMP. This is Johnson's five straight year winning the award, breaking a tie with Hal Newhouser for the most consecutive victories in this category.

Gavvy Cravath is voted the top position player in the NL. Cravath also won this award in 1913.

Finally, John Henry Lloyd is voted the top player in the Negro Leagues. This is Lloyd's fourth win with earlier victories coming in 1908, '09 and '13. Lloyd is now tied with Josh Gibson for the most wins in this category.

I didn't notice until now that 25 names is the record for most on 10 person ballot. This beats the previous high of 24 names in 1905 and 1914.
