This is Brock Hanke’s MMP ballot for 1929. Consensus between Win Shares and WAR is VERY high this year, perhaps the best in the whole of the MMP. It’s also the year that the Cubs won the pennant, but not the World Series, coupling with 1930 to firmly establish the Billy Goat Jinx. This year, the Cubs were almost certainly the best team in the game, going into April. But Gabby Hartnett got hurt and lost the whole year, and they came up short in the WS. In 1930, Hartnett would be back, but Hornsby would miss the whole year, and the Cubs don’t win anything. I would have HATED not getting to vote because BTF would not let me post a comment. OK, calm down. Post list before BTF throws you out and won't even let you log in.
