Hall of Merit — A Look at Baseball's All-Time Best Wednesday, October 21, 2020Most Meritorious Player: 1932 BallotFor 1932 each voter should rank the top 10 players from all leagues combined. Balloting is scheduled to close at 4pm EDT on 4 November 2020. Please let me know if you want your preliminary ballot counted as your final ballot. Anyone can vote, even if you do not normally participate in Hall of Merit discussions. 2) Carl Hubbell - NL has lower standard deviations in run scoring than the AL. This will boost NL candidates on my ballot
3) Babe Ruth - Postseason bonus isn't enough to get to the #2 slot
4) Satchel Paige - huge strikeout rate as he dominates the fractured Negro Leagues
5) Lou Gehrig - terrific World Series gives him a boost on the ballot
6) Chuck Klein - NL boost
7) Lefty Grove - best AL pitcher
8) Lon Warneke - not helped by his postseason
9) Mel Ott - Strong bat
10) Mickey Cochrane - having a good run of seasons here
