fra paulo is busy with other things at the moment. I could use another ballot counter for 1982.

Valenzuela is top pitcher and top non-HoM this year.

I can fill in for '82. Don't know that I could do it permanently though.

Mike Schmidt is the first unanimous MMP since Joe Morgan in 1975 and only the second since 1968. We started with 5 unanimous MMPs in our first 8 seasons but have only had 2 out of 14 since then (including the out-of-chronology election for 2012). This is Schmidt's second MLB MMP (his first was in 1974) and his fifth NL MMP (those two plus '77, '79 and '80).

Dwight Evans is the third Red Sox outfielder to be named the AL position player MMP in the past four seasons, following Jim Rice in 1978 and Fred Lynn in 1979. Lynn and Evans were also the AL MMP, while Rice finished second to pitcher Ron Guidry.

Fernando Valenzuela is the second rookie to win the pitching MMP (Mark Fidrych was the first in 1976) and the first in the NL. Steve McCatty is the second Athletic in a row to win the AL pitching MMP following Mike Norris' win in 1980.

Schmidt makes his 8th ballot which ties Willie Mays.

7th ballot and highest finish for Grich.

I'd like to get to the 15 ballot threshold again. 10 ballots is the least we've seen and 17 is the most.

Thanks for getting this posted.
I also have Stieb as my highest rated pitcher w/out a vote... but for position players (and combined) the highest is Gorman Thomas (22nd... I think. I just closed my spreadsheet).
