6th time on an MMP ballot for Boggs and Yount. Boggs has an MMP and two runner-ups now.

8th time for Rickey, 7th for Brett, 5th for Ripken and Trammell

My best player without a vote is Kal Daniels. My best pitcher is David Cone.

Wow, the opinions on Hershiser really diverged this year. 2 people had him 1st. 4 didn't even have him on their ballot. The result is that Will Clark snuck past him for the NL MMP although the Bulldog was still top pitcher by a fairly wide margin.

Jose Canseco is the fourth non-HoMer to win an MMP (not counting active players) following Ron Guidry ('78), Fred Lynn ('79) and Dwight Gooden ('85). He's the first outfielder to win the award since Fred Lynn in 1979 and the first Athletic since Reggie Jackson in 1969.

Orel Hershiser is the third Dodger to win the pitching MMP, following Sandy Koufax ('63, '65 and '66) and Fernando Valenzuela ('81). Hershiser is also the first National League pitcher to win back-to-back NL pitching MMPs since Bob Gibson won 3 in a row from 1968 to '70. Hershiser won the '87 award in a run-off vote over Bob Welch.

Will Clark won the NL MMP. He's the first Giant and the first first baseman to win the award since fellow Giant first baseman Willie McCovey won in 1969.

Finally, Frank Viola claimed a narrow victory over Mark Gubicza and Roger Clemens to become the AL pitching MMP. Viola is the second Twin to win this award following Bert Blyleven in 1973. Camilo Pascual effectively tied for the award in 1962, though no runoff was conducted at the twin.

DL, what's the upcoming schedule? 2013, then 1989, then the '50s? Or do we go straight to the '50s after this season?

Is 1950 going to be vote for top 8?

Great Scot!

1950 will be top 10. 10 is the minimum ballot number for all years.

My best player w/out a vote is Paul Molitor (23rd).
My best pitcher w/out a vote is Greg Swindell (30th).

Also, I was one of the 4 who didn't have Hershiser on my ballot (he was 16th in my system).
Part of my system includes Fangraphs WAR and he got killed in that.
