Congratulations to Bryce Harper! Harper joins Ty Cobb (1909), Frank Robinson ('66), Reggie Jackson ('69) and Jose Canseco ('88) as MMP right fielders. Harper is also the first National to win the MMP, although Gary Carter won the NL only award for the Expos in 1982.

Congratulations to Mike Trout! Trout has been named the top player in the AL for the fourth consecutive year. Mickey Mantle is the only player with a longer American League streak with five ('55-'59), though Honus Wagner has the best league-specific mark with 6 NL MMPs from 1904-'09.

Congratulations to Zack Greinke! Greinke is the pitching MMP for 2015, beating out Jake Arrieta by a mere 5 points. This is the third consecutive victory for the Dodgers following Kershaw's back-to-back wins in 2013 and '14. Don Drysdale ('60), Sandy Koufax ('63, '65, '66), Fernando Valenzuela ('81) and Orel Hershiser ('88) have also won the Dodger franchise.

Congratulations to Dallas Keuchel! Keuchel is the AL pitching MMP for 2015 and the only AL pitcher named on more than one ballot. Keuchel is the first Astro to win the AL award though JR Richard ('79) and Mike Scott ('86) were victorious when Houston was in the NL.

Finally, congratulations to Wade Davis! For a relief pitcher, it's an honor just to be nominated and Davis has now been named on an MMP ballot for a second consecutive year. He joins an illustrious list of relief pitchers with votes in two different years: Stu Miller, Mike Marshall (3), Goose Gossage, Bruce Sutter and Dan Quisenberry.

The MVP voters didn't do a bad job this year, though I have a feeling looking back on this decade we'll feel about Mike Trout the way we feel now about Mickey Mantle's MVP results in the 1950s and Mays in the 1960s. That comparison to Frank Robinson 1966 for Bryce Harper 2015 could be prescient.

I like Greinke over Arrieta but we get to factor in postseason and they don't.
