Squishing Bugs

Yesterday morning I updated our underlying CMS (Content Management System) Expression Engine. I needed to apply the maintenance release to better take advantage of the new caching system I’m using with the updated site. It wasn’t a major release and during my testing on my development system I didn’t notice any issues. Well, after applying the update to the site, a few issues have cropped up. I am working to squish those bugs.

To date: the bug affecting comment numbering has been fixed. I am working to resolve an issue with staying logged in with multiple devices. EE has rewritten this portion of their code and it will take me a little time to figure out how they are doing things. I am also working to re-fix the bug related to an “Edit” link which is still showing up for users after the 15 minute window for editing comments expires.

To help me find/fix other bugs, please let me know about any issues you find by posting in our bug report forum.

The Jeter hitting .400 thread doesn't appear to be accepting comments.

Probably for the best.

I had the same issue as Yankee Clapper.

Me too. Somewhere out there in the ether are our snarky comments about Jeter and pointing out that Silva wrote that 34 games have already been played.

So this is where the Can Jeter hit .400 comments go?

My post:
No.

Well, I saw the Kruk segment and it was pretty clear he was joking. Still, it would be a heck of an accomplishment for Jeter to merely replicate his 2009 season. Right now, Jeter is hitting as well as ever, and has been since coming of the DL last season. That's not such a small sample size anymore.

I have made a few changes to the login templates. Anyone having problems staying logged in should: 1) log out, 2) clear your cookies, 3) log in again and check the keep logged in box.

The Jeter thread is now accepting comments.

I just tried to log in on my blackberry and was unsuccessful. It said “You are logged in” and then redirected me back to the log in page. The second time it redirected me to the Home Page but I was still not logged in.

It seems like news submission from my Blackberry is working again. Thank you!

The auto log-in doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm having to re-log-in every time I come back to the site. checked the other sites I go to with auto log-in and they are working fine.

I am experiencing the issue myself, although it only happens occasionally. I continue to troubleshoot the issue and hope to have some type of fix soon.

Same here. I'm also getting the Edit link long after edits are closed.
   17. The Yankee Clapper Posted: May 02, 2012 at 05:41 PM (#4122007)
Ditto, too also on the auto log-in.
   18. Baldrick Posted: May 02, 2012 at 08:09 PM (#4122132)
Ditto.

Clearing cookies didn't fix things. Not a huge problem, obviously, but it is ongoing.

Ditto on the non-auto login, and the Edit function isn't working, either.

Half a ditto. Auto-log works for this account, doesn't work for my "at work" handle.

I am continuing to work on this problem. It is related to this issue: Expression Engine Remember Me bug. I have just implemented a work around. If you are experiencing the problem, please try logging off and clearing your cookies.
   22. ERROR---Jolly Old St. Nick Posted: May 03, 2012 at 10:01 AM (#4122402)
Jim, both the auto-login and Edit functions now seem to be working. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Jim...Ex. Engine posts aren't showing up on Newsstand after being submitted.
   24. jimfurtado Posted: May 03, 2012 at 02:54 PM (#4122698)
Repoz, which posts? Are they your posts? Are you submitting them in the CP or using the submit link?
   25. Repoz Posted: May 03, 2012 at 04:01 PM (#4122797)
Got it Jim...didn't see the new "Status" button on the "New Entry" page.
   26. jimfurtado Posted: May 03, 2012 at 08:39 PM (#4123030)
Yeah, I moved it to the main page to make posting easier.

I can't post in the WAR Thread. I tried logging out and in again, but that didn't work.
   28. jimfurtado Posted: May 04, 2012 at 08:10 PM (#4123771)
You can post into the thread. It seems EE changed something about processing titles. Periods aren't being converted into url safe characters. Grrr.

Still can't get auto-login to work.
