That Tides lineup is really terrible.

Did you have any impressions of Norfolk relievers Mickolio or Miller?

Mickolio (pronounced mick-uh-LYE-o, for those who don't know) was hit hard in his outing, although all of the runs were unearned because Fahey booted one of them. Like Price, he threw hard but without much movement.

I've always liked Miller, but he's got that "short pitcher" thing going against him (he's only 6'1, which IS short for a pitcher in this day and age) as well as that "minor league closer" thing.

The idea that Price is going to make a noticeable difference this year is a bit much given his not that dominating run through the minors.

Running his stats through zMLE, he combines for:

6-6, 4.70 ERA, 16 G, 88 IP, 96 H, 46 ER, 12 HR, 26 BB, 70 SO, 3 HBP, 381 TBF, 1.39 WHIP

He wouldn't embarrass himself, but he should keep working on his stuff. I wouldn't be opposed to a late callup, though.

Based on his stats at Bowie, Wieters' MLE is .310/.390/.510.

A 4.70 MLE ERA as a starter would be about a 3.70 ERA as a reliever, quite helpful. How's this bullpen look, especially considering all the L/R/GB/FB leverage opportunities?

You want Bradford to clone himself?

Lefty Clone Bradford isn't quite as polished as Original Righty Bradford, evidently.

Something like 17 of his first 23 pitches tonight were fastballs. Just from those radar gun readings, it's not hard to see why he's a highly regarded prospect. OTOH it looked to me like he's been given orders to work on his change-up, even if it affects short-term results.

Anyone know when Price will pitch again?
He started at Indianapolis on Monday, so I'm assuming he would be scheduled to pitch at home in Durham on Saturday... anyone know if that is what is going to happen?
