Brewers returning to ball-in-glove logo for 2020, unveil new uniform designs for 50th anniversary ce

And now, for some lighter news….

What was once old is new again.

That was the Milwaukee Brewers’ message as they announced a branding overhaul Monday night at the Skyy Lounge at Miller Park. The team confirmed growing rumors that they are returning to the clever, memorable ball-in-glove logo that came to identify the team until 1994, when they moved on after a 25-year run.

But this is not your parents’ ball-in-glove.

The Brewers gave it some modern flourishes, connecting the “m” and “b” that form the glove, changing the color from royal blue to navy blue and putting two seams on a now-centered baseball to give it a more authentic look. Club president of baseball operations Rick Schlesinger said the intent was to stay true to the nature of the original logo while bringing it forward to mesh with a rebranding of player uniforms as well.

SportsLogos.net - NEW Brewers Ball-in-Glove Logo for 2020

It’s been rumoured for years, but now it appears to be finally happening. The Milwaukee Brewers are returning to their classic “Ball-in-Glove” logo full-time for the 2020 season.

Thanks to a preview of a new Topps Baseball Card set, we got our first look at the new Brewers logo late tonight. The logo, shown on the lower-left corner of a “Bernie the Brewer” mascot card features the classic logo now in a darker blue and placed inside a circle. The team name “MILWAUKEE BREWERS” surrounds it in white and the circle outlined in yellow.

Brewers almost certainly going back to ball-in-mitt logo for 2020

There have been a number of rumors that the Milwaukee Brewers would be getting rid of the “M-with-the-barley” as the primary logo and going back to some version of their classic ball-in-mitt logo next year. Now we have at least partial confirmation.

Chris Creamer of Sportslogos.net posted a photo last night of what appears to be the new/old logo being used in a preview of a 2020 Topps baseball card set featuring mascot Bernie Brewer. The blue on the glove is darker and there are a couple of very minor changes to it, but it’s basically the classic logo, complete with the sorta hidden “m” and “b” which comprises the top and bottom of the glove.

Something for the uniform fans among us.
