Don't really care for Houston, but it's been 18 years, so I'm ready to see Dusty finally get a ring.
Basically, I'm cool with either team winning it all, so let's get seven games. But I'll say Houston in six.
Similarly, there's a lot to like about this specific Braves team and I appreciate the message of them winning would send about trying to win vs tanking. But yeah, the chant is just ####### annoying even if you ignore the insensitivity and tone deafness of it.
So, in conclusion, I would like a long and close series.
Pretty simple. I'll hope for seven and let them duke it out in the great beyond.
Not so fast my friend. They'll find a way. They always do.
Yep, the 7 2/3 innings he would have been allowed to pitch will be sorely missed. :)
Sorry, immigrants don't have ponies.
No dog in this fight, just want a long, exciting series and hopefully each team will use at least 6 pitchers per game.
Oh, so you also think he would have made two starts!
It sounds like Dan Plesac with the Bagswell comment.
Game one: Braves 75, Astros 0
Game two: Braves 83, Astros 0
Game three: Braves 51, Astros 0
Game four: Astros 3, Braves 2
Game five: Braves 93, Astros 0

Is A-Rod part of the broadcast team?
2) he’s telling what makes for a more effective pitcher and why there isn’t anything other than an explicit rule against slowing down to make them change.
Is BBRef correct that the Royals just got a middling high-A relief pitcher for Soler? Seems like with him having a hot month they could have gotten a little more.
19 WAR difference to date per bref.
It would have been a wash if they only traded him for Aaron Blair.
Their 6 post-all star acquisitions were worth 4.3 WAR per bref. Basically 1 Acuna.
That's a gut punch.
They were kinda the consensus team to win the division this year in almost all pre-season polls, they just started slow, and nobody else in their division was worth a crap, so even without Acuna they were more than likely going to find their way into the title.
The Braves might be up 3-0 before his next scheduled start anyway.
Proposed rule: Any mound visit while a reliever is warming up must result in the pitcher being removed. In doing so, the manager must first signal to the bullpen upon emerging from the dugout. Only when the reliever has entered the field of play may the manager approach the mound.
He legit looked serviceable in the spring for the Cubs. Unfortunately for him, it was just spring training.
have watched very little, and cannot imagine any sentient being just sitting on the couch and "wearing" all these commercials and ludicrous delays between any action.
will wait at least through 2 games, I promise, before reiterating remedial/satisfying solutions (which won't solve the preposterous real-time end of games ET, alas).
Asian people are not displeased with this outcome.
Was this mentioned during the broadcast last night? I only caught about half of the game.
For the record, Gibson only pitched to three more batters after the Roberto Clemente line drive broke his leg.
He returned to action on September 7, and over his remaining five starts he allowed only four earned runs to finish the season with a 2.98 ERA.
He only missed 8 calls, but it seems like they all went in Houston's favor. At least the most "impactful" ones all benefited the Astros.
They don't show by score but this study says "Umpire error rate inconsistency by innings was only marginal"
That seems like an incident waiting to happen... they are obstacles for each other on any fair line drive that enters foul territory down the left-field line.
