Today, 5 pm ET.
They should do this up like a regular draft, bring in some of the most likely draftees for live reactions, maybe bring in former Rule 5ers to announce the selections.
i'll finish my r5 prep in a month or two; brilliant. favorite hitter might be andres chaparro. haven't gotten far eonugh with pitchers yet for a pick there.
----
so, something i (potentially) realized the other day -- is the rule 5 draft the oldest ongoing professional sports draft in the world?
Phillies get Noah Song, the Naval committment, from Boston. Seems a bit unfair, Philly won't have to put him on their active roster since he can't play.
also, i know i've listened to too many of things as i also started laughin when the phillies made a pick in round 7 of that phase. (an interesting one too, in oliver dunn, but that phase never ever lasts that long)

Would the Red Sox have been able to put Song on the restricted list if they had added him to the 40-man?

pittsburgh and san francisco are losing players left and right in the minor league phase
i wouldn't have done that though - he probably should not be on a 40 man for his own development
