The NCAA regionals will take place from June 2-June 5 in a double-elimination tournament. The regionals winners will advance to the super regionals, which will run from June 9-June 12. The super regionals are a best-of-3 series. The eight super regionals champions will advance to the College World Series, which begins on June 16.

And again, I don't really understand this comment at all.
I don't think #1 is ever going to get #62, #63 and #64 in their regional bracket. I think it's more like 1, 32, 48 and 64. Looking at the bracket it's more like #1, lowest ranked nearby team #17-32, lowest ranked close team #33-48, lowest ranked close team #49-64.

There’s automatic entry for conference tournament winners and there’s more conferences in the northeast than in the southwest. I don’t think it’s anything more than that.
Well, kind of...UConn, Northeastern, and BC were at-large teams after losing their conference tourneys. And BC and Northeastern play in conferences (ACC,CAA) with a lot of Southern teams.
Maybe unrelated?: UGA said goodbye to Coach Stricklin after the SEC Tournament.
