Alex Reyes fractures pinky after punching wall

Cardinals starter Alex Reyes has had a forgettable 2019 season. He started the season on the big league roster, but allowed runs in three of four appearances before being demoted to Triple-A Memphis. The right-hander saw success there, pitching 7 2/3 scoreless innings across four appearances prior to his start on Thursday against Omaha. In that start, Reyes yielded three runs in 2 2/3 innings.

After all these years, you’d think people (especially athletes) would stop picking fights with an opponent who never loses….

I'd remember breaking my hand after punching a wall, wouldn't you?

I fought the wall and the wall won.

If he’s so smart as to punch wall with his non-throwing hand, why isn’t he smart enough not to punch the wall at all?

Don’t teams have punching bags set up just for this purpose ?

Reyes has been such a disappointment with all his injuries - at this rate he’ll be a free agent before he puts up a full season’s numbers

Fortunately, Reyes has a history of extreme durability, so this should just be a blip on the radar screen.
