Really, that was a ball, and last inning, edman's was a strike.. both were equally outside of the zone.

okay, that was a good pitch. First time this inning that Gant looked like he knew where the ball was going.

Bases loaded no outs... he gets to a two ball count and ends up with a strikeout. Next batter swings at a meatball and managed to fly out to the shortstop. That changeup was nasty, but the ump didn't go for it. and the fastball strikeout... wow... that was impressive to be honest, a guy who was clearly struggling managed to tighten his crap up and pitch a near perfect 8 or so pitches.

Marlins third baseman totally screwed up that play. Man on second and third and no one out, and on a ground out to the the third baseman, he allows Goldschmidt (the runner at third) to score on a play that should never have happened.

Crazy play to end the inning in Fenway - runners on 1st and 2nd, ball hit to the wall, everyone hears it bang like it richocheted off the wall and into Franchy Cordero's glove, but he throws in to second, where they tag the runner standing on the base after advancing from first (the other runner crossed home plate).

Can't blame the runners for getting that wrong - took replay to get it right - but, anyway, nuts.

It's the old Fox SN. Per Wiki, when Disney bought 21st C Fox they were required to dump FSN for anti-trust reasons.** The Diamond Sports Group is apparently a joint venture of Sinclair and a company owned by milquetoast TV personality Byron Allen. (Wiki actually refers to him as a "comedian" which, in my experience, would be extremely difficult to justify.) The DSG sold the naming rights to Bally who own casinos.***

I wish Bally pinball machines had paid out stock shares rather than free games.

** One of the largest producers of movies, TV shows and owners of archived material buying another major studio apparently not of anti-trust concern. But you can't have ESPN and FSN owned by the same folks.

*** I got tired of digging but there seem to be different divisions, maybe even different corporations, for the Bally that runs casinos and the Bally that makes pinball and slot machines although they both have rights to the logo. The SN naming rights are to the casino folks.

As part of the deal (if I read Wiki right), it seems the good Christian folks at Sinclair Broadcasting now own a chunk of Bally, a chunk that goes up substantially if the SN hits performance targets.
