The Astros are in agreement with free agent righthander Ryne Stanek on a one-year deal for $1.1 million, a person with knowledge of the deal said on Wednesday, reuniting the former Rays reliever with general manager James Click.
Stanek spent parts of three seasons in Tampa Bay after the team selected him in the first round of the 2013 draft. He was traded to the Miami Marlins in July 2019, beginning a precipitous decline. Stanek had a 6.03 ERA and allowed seven home runs in 31 ⅓ innings with the Marlins.
