i remember that u of h team from 02 - with michael bourn, ryan wagner (who was up the year he was drafted and OOB 4 years later with too many injuries) jesse crain and the guy who was REALLY pimped, brad sullivan who got drafted by billy beane in the 1st round and wasn't good enough to make it out of A ball

funny who succeeds and who doesn't...

it is also interesting who you do/don't remember from a team
like i remember the 04 rice owls winning the WS with humber, niemann and townsend. townsend never made it past a ball, humber sucked until last year at age 28. and i thought townsend was the best of em - i wonder if sitting out a year to get more $$$ screwed him up - sort of like matt whashisname, who he never got much of anything in the end

but the 2 hitters who i thought were gonna make it were chris kolkhorst who didn't get past A ball, and lance pendleton, who was a hitter who could pitch a little, and the yankees made him pitch full time, which he isn't very good at. too bad he didn't hit at all in the minors or he could have been another brooks kieschnick. or they could have faced facts and swithced him like the astros finally did with brian bogusevic
