Atlanta Braves player Marcell Ozuna arrested for DUI

An Atlanta Braves player has been arrested for driving under the influence.

Norcross Police arrested Braves outfielder and designated hitter Marcell Ozuna for DUI and Failure to Maintain Lane. The 31-year-old was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail at 4:39 a.m. Friday morning.

Ozuna was also arrested last year and charged with felony assault after Sandy Springs police say they witnessed him choke his wife. He returned to the Braves for this season after a suspension.

It's nice to see him moderating his crimes

Drunk at 4 a.m. the night before a game only works if you're Mickey Mantle. Marcell Ozuna ain't Mickey Mantle.

No, drunk at 4am the night before a game only works if you're on a multi-year guaranteed contract paying you millions of dollars. Mickey Mantle didn't have one of those.

EDIT: Also not like it's a day game. Being drunk at 4 am when you have to start work at 7.20 ... probably not even need to be there until, what, 4 pm ... is no worse than the Mad Men stumbling home at 11 pm. It's irresponsible drinking obviously but no more so than the millions of other people who go out drinking after work, just so happens that Ozuna's work day didn't end until 11 pm or later.

Or at least Miguel Cabrera.

Way to handle the pennant race pressure. Reminds me of Falcon Eugene Robinson arrested for solicitation the night before the Super Bowl.

Nah... Eugene Robinson is still the ultimate loser to pressure.

A Mets fan with whom I'm friendly wrote:
What's the strategy here? He's hoping the cop is enough of a casual Braves fan to let him off, but not a serious enough Braves fan to know he's hitting .214 with terrible defense?

Eh, when I was that age we'd go out drinking until 3 or 4 in the morning and then roll into work at 2pm like it was nothing.
