Aubrey Huff, Seth McClung feuding on Twitter

Seth McClung pitched for six seasons for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Milwaukee Brewers. His time in Tampa Bay overlapped with Aubrey Huff’s time with the Devil Rays for several seasons, making them teammates.

It would seem, however, that they did not get along too well. They certainly aren’t getting along very well now if their interaction on Twitter over the past couple of days is any indication.

Yesterday a fan asked McClung who was “the biggest turd” with whom he played. McClung did not hesitate to answer

For those of you who want a reminder as for why most respectable people steer far clear of Twitter….

After Huff's line that they kept McClung's lockers away from those of "the talented players", TFA says:
Worth noting that Huff and McClung played for the pre-2008 Tampa Bay Devil Rays so the “talented players” were kinda limited. Everyone not right next to Carl Crawford was located away from the allegedly “talented players.
This misses the tragedy of the ~2000 to 2008 Devil Rays. They had a reasonable amount of talent, especially hitting talent, but that talent never seemed to get deployed properly, and never seemed to develop as it should. The 2006 team had Melvin (then BJ) Upton, Rocco Baldelli, Delmon Young, Jonny Gomes, and Dioner Navarro, all of whom were considered top talents and none of whom turned out anything like as well as was hoped. Jorge Cantu sort of fits in there as well. Ben Zobrist was on that team, and didn't come close to matching his minor league production until 2008 (when he was 28). Before the season they'd even imported Sean Burroughs, another very talented young failure (who they acquired for the talented young failure Dewon Brazelton).

(Admittedly, Baldelli's health problems were an act of God, and maybe he has Crawford's career if he has better mitochondria.)

Steve Cox was long gone by 2006, but I always think of him as the ur Failed Devil Rays Hitting Prospect.

Anyway, the McClung-Huff era Devil Rays had plenty of talented players, they just didn't have very many good players.

For those of you who want a reminder as for why most respectable people steer far clear of Twitter….

does not compute.

what does someone getting into a proverbial online food fight have to do with Twitter?

if they argued on a bus, would you say that's why "most respectable people steer far clear of buses"?

as I've noted before, if your Twitter feed sucked, or sucks - look in the mirror.

you can't produce a crappy movie and then complain that it's crappy. you made it.

I'd never see these tweets - or tons far more toxic - because I am making smarter choices than that on whom to follow. I enjoy my Twitter feed, and get a lot out of it. if I ever notice one of my selective follows becoming annoying, off with their heads and I'm right back to equilibrium.

I still hold a grudge against Aubrey Huff for the 40 games he played for the Tigers in 2009 when he was about the worst player in baseball over that stretch and the Tigers missed the playoffs in Game 163. So I side with the other guy.

This is why the internet was invented.

I like Howie Menckel's take in post 2... that is all.
