1. Hombre Brotani08.06... Mets manager Luis Rojas said Thursday that Noah Syndergaard (elbow) will start facing hitters again "soon."
Spin: "I don't think it's next week yet, but that will be happening soon," Rojas added. Syndergaard had a setback with his elbow in late May while on a rehab assignment, but he resumed throwing more than a month ago and would appear fairly close to being ready for rehab games again. The righty won't make it back before September, though, and it's unclear what role the Mets might have planned for him at this point.
...........
(would make for a great closer intro, with thundering Nordic music and a deal with Marvel to allow for a cool video on screen of Thor smiting foes)

I know it's only about 10 games, but I am so FREAKING DONE with Javier Baez, who just might be the most overrated sack of dog crap we traded for since Jim Fregosi. Baez smells like the Fulton Fish Market on a hot summer Friday. Would it hurt him to put the ball in play? DONE!
Win Probability for Mets listed as 0.01 percent - which strikes me as awfully high

let me rephrase. he just let his utter incompetence as an MLB umpire go on full display as PHI P Bradley throws the ball a foot outside on a 3-2 pitch in a 2-1 game with 2 outs in the 8th inning.
but because West sucks, he punches out Conforto in a game that has the division lead at stake.
must be fun to make consequential mistakes and never pay even a tiny price professionally for it.
If you want to keep human umps, then keep them, but have the robo ump have the option to overturn a call that is clearly incorrect immediately.
Nimmo of course flied out on the next pitch - and the Mets' barely-deserved run as NL Least leaders ends after exactly 90 days.

Well, we occupied first place for 90 straight days. And now, we have relinquished our standing with yet another weak offensive performance. It's not over by any stretch and I'm always a believer, but wow, it sucks to see them play this way. With that in mind #LFGM. PLEASE!
Ryan McMahon just homered off Leon, thankfully not on a 3-0 count.
speed, defense, bunts, triples - it seems to have knocked them out of a catatonic state AND induced the deals for Rizzo and Gallo.
I don't count them out anymore, although yes their pitching remains dicey and there are no "rich teams make August deals" options this year. they'll have to dance with these gals....

2 neat ones from @StatsBySTATS
This is the Yankees' 1st game ever in which no pitcher threw 2 innings
Also, they're the 1st team in the modern era (since 1900) to win an extra-inning game without any pitcher throwing 2 innings
