Baseball image of the day: Billy Martin, Catfish Hunter and Brad Gulden

Today’s image is of Billy Martin (who, were he alive, would be turning 82 today), Catfish Hunter, and Brad Gulden (one of the people who had the unfortunate task of replacing Thurman Munson- who is mourned in this image with the black band on the Yankees’ uniform).

As a Yankee fan growing up in Cali I would catch the Yankees everytime they came to Anaheim. I remember one game when Billy Martin came out of the dugout after batting practice and through baseballs to the fans in the stands. The fans went wild. He was kinda crazy but I loved him anyways.

I remember the day Thurman died, a girl across the street named Yumi told me about it. I immedetley though Reggie had something to do with it. Hey I was young and I had just read the book "Bronx zoo."

Please reassure me that you're not a member of the Tea Party and that you don't now blame Munson's death on Obama.

OK, never mind.
