1. A triple short of the cycleVlad 115 OPS+
Gurriel 138
Grichuk 114
Teoscar 146
Tellez 139
Springer looks to be the best defensively but Grichuk has been OK in CF and Hernandez passable. Anyway, things clear up if Vlad can move back to 3B then Tellez and probably Gurriel split 1B/DH. Grichuk is under contract for 3/$31 so he's tradable. He's been up and down, supposedly terrible defensively this year killing his offensive bounceback and just bad overall last year -- which I suppose makes him most likley to be 4th OF if Vlad can't shift back. Gurriel is under contraact for 3/$15 so easily tradable but why would you want to? Three years of arb left on Teoscar as well.
Those are just one-year totals of course and neither Hernandez nor Tellez can be projeected to hit like that. Springer obviously is an upgrade. They're clearly a team ready for a run but they seem to need pitching a lot more than they need Springer.
That depends on how much adding that new 6th guy costs you and whether you'd be better off spending that money on your #1 or #2 SP.
Lourdes can theoretically play all over the IF.
I'm pretty confident the Jays decided reality did not support theory.
