The Boston Red Sox are acquiring outfielder Kyle Schwarber from the Washington Nationals, a source told ESPN’s Jesse Rogers on Thursday.
Schwarber is batting .253 with 25 home runs and 53 RBIs. He’s currently on the 10-day injured list because of a right hamstring strain.
In June, Schwarber was among the hottest hitters in the majors. He bashed 16 home runs that month, seven of them leading off games. All were critical for the Nationals, who went 19-9 in the month to turn their season around.

1. Rough CarriganIncidentally, he has a .976 OPS against righties and .736 against lefties this year.
EDIT: I agree he's a decent OF, good arm for a LF, seems a reasonale fit for LF in Fenway.
EDIT2: And the splits go beyond this season: 873/665 career. He really shouldn't be used against LHP. OK, you never know, 736 is just fine and he was 756 in 2019 so maybe he's figured it out.
I pronounce it "shwore-brrr."
But to the rest of us it’s sounds like “Schwa-ba”….
