Opening Day and home openers are a big deal, so unless you play in a dome or in California, Major League Baseball gives you an off day after your opener in the event that is rained or snowed or colded out. Two teams are taking advantage of that this week, with both the St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago White Sox moving their home openers to Friday due to predicted inclement weather.
No chance of them having to move to a neutral-site, is there?

1. sinicalypse Posted: April 04, 2019 at 08:01 PM (#5828725)My guess is that they just wanted to take advantage of the extra scheduled day to hedge their bets that it's a little nicer tomorrow and the people who actually show up might be inclined to spend more in the shopping mall parts of the ballpark (especially with the game moving to a Friday afternoon)
Still, I gotta say that it's a bit asinine to postpone a game a day early simply because it's forecasted to be non-ideal weather as opposed to, say, an imminent hurricane / tropical storm / biblical deluge. Methinks you're on a slippery slope here.
Yeah, today's weather was definitely playable.
