Carroll makes more history: 1st rookie to have 25-HR, 50-SB season

Can we just go ahead and give Corbin Carroll the National League Rookie of the Year Award already?

The D-backs outfielder continues to pile up impressive accomplishments. In Arizona’s 7-1 win over the Giants on Wednesday at Chase Field—which gave the D-backs the season-series win over San Francisco—he stole his 49th and 50th bases of the season and belted his 25th home run.

With those steals and the homer, Carroll became the first rookie in MLB history to compile 25 or more home runs and 50-plus stolen bases.

I agree he deserves it. Kodai Senga (12-7, 2.96 ERA, 143 ERA+, 161 IP, 3.53 FIP) is having a very nice rookie season as well.

Fun fact: Carroll is eligible to play for Team Chinese Taipei, as his mother was born in Taiwan.

I'm not voting for Carroll until he shaves. He's never going to make the Yankees with that disheveled look.

Also, I'm surprised Corbin is even in the running for ROY given how badly he has slumped since last year.

PAs per WAR
2022: 105
2023: 115

At this rate by the time he enters his early thirties he's going to be barely putting up 3 WAR seasons.
